I had lived 13 years in Cyprus so know what the cuisine should be like, the service was excellent but the food was lacking in authenticity and missing that “Greek” touch, gave it four stars because it sort of reminded me of past times but could of produced better food myself
Mezze for 4. Selection of dips with pitta, fried selection, calamari, halloumi, and selection of meats, chicken, pork, kebabs. Perfectly cooked and delivered with a smile. Can’t ask for more.
Finally tried sokrates yesterday with my friend. We really enjoyed our food and the laid back feel of the restaurant. It felt very authentic. The food was lovely and great value for money. The girl who served us was very sweet. I will be returning soon and would recommend :)
We had a great evening here at the weekend. The restaurant was quite full. The food was excellent and service was good too. We weren't rushed between courses. We ordered too much and i took my moussaka home!

First time visit and felt like I had been served a banquet. Service was fantastic too and very accomodating. Highly recommend and will be back to enjoy other delights. Mykos beers are very crisp and cold as you would expect.
Hands down the best greek food in Manchester, we have been numerous times and you cannot fault it, fresh, authentic, affordable - perfect for a date night or meal out. Would recommend 1000%
Lovely little taverna. Very authentic, delicious food, good portions, friendly chatty staff and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back when we visit family in Sale again.
It was a bit quiet but the food was lovely and the staff were great. My only small complaint would be that the bathroom could do with updating.

On Saturday the 20th December 2019 four of us ate here. From start to finish the whole experience was great. We ordered the meze for 4 but the waiter told us that would be way too much and just order it for 2. He was right, and wow the food was lovely evey dish was fresh and full of flavor. Even our fussy eater found something that they liked. Each plate was just as tasty as the last. They even gave us complimentary desserts. The staff were great, very accomodating and even found mayo for the chips. We even boxed the leftovers to take home. Loved it, and will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great evening x

Tasty food, however we felt it was overpriced for what it was. £19 for this dish, which was enjoyable but nothing special
I like a lot the delicious food in this restaurant. Also nobody can fault their fantastic choice of dishes, and wines.

Lovely staff, food was delicious and very reasonably priced, really impressive service from more or less one waitress doing all the front of house for the whole restaurant. It’s a small place but impressive and admirable all the same and it’s clear the staff work very hard. (Didn’t catch our waitress’s name but she was fantastic; the service was quick and she was friendly, polite and very attentive.)
Please go and try Sokrates Taverna but only if you plan to tip! They deserve every penny.

Fantastic date night at Sokrates. The staff member on the night was super friendly and welcoming and catered to everything really well.
The food was fantastic all round and we unfortunately had no space left to try dessert this time, so we will be back.
Absolutely delicious food, worth driving to Sale for it. Welcoming owners, kind and attentive to your needs. The place has a cosy, family vibe, clean and pleasant. There is no AC so not the greatest in very hot summer days as it's a small, family restaurant.

Had our usual enjoyable meal. Nice glass for me of rose wine and kalimarie when I asked for chips a d rice with it they did that.
They where busy 2 large parties in, so we had to wait a little longer then normal. But once the food came it was hot and well presented.
Atmosphere was lively but as a large parties left the relaxed atmosphere came back. All in all a good night
