Absolute gem. The food was not only cooked to perfection out of what must have been caught/ foraged / picked that day but also very creatively put together. With each dish we found different textures and little explosions of flavours that kept us amazed throughout the meal - very well balanced and simply delicious. The place had a welcoming ambience and superb service.

Lovely ambience and very attentive staff. The menu was varied and creative and the locally sourced food never disappoints. When we visit Rye we always have a meal at the landgate, it's our favourite restaurant there.

The Landgate Bistro is a little gem of a restaurant, where the friendly, well-informed staff serve delicious, well-cooked and presented food, with a great choice of wines, all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

For a belated 70th Birthday present my wife treated me to two nights at Jeakes House and Jenny at Jeakes recommended the Landgate Bistro what can I say the meal was superb my starter of venison carpaccio was sensational as was my wifes scallops we then both had the camber rabbit which was also brilliant. When we are down inRye again it will be our first port of call to eat. Thankyou.

Booked here earlier in the day. The menu is modest but still very interesting. A party of three, with allergies for soya gluten and black pepper, this was not a problem for them. In the end, two of the party had starters and desert and one main and desert. Scallops pork belly and crumble, mushrooms on toast. Whilst I had lemon Sole fillets, these were all top-notch. The deserts were tarte tatin one clotted cream and one with ice cream brilliant. One order chocolate mousse - enjoyable. Really good evening highly recommended

A quaint restaurant that offers a menu that’s limited but divine. The presentation of the food is faultless and cooked to perfection. 10/10 for the cuisine, service, and ambience.

Really delicious, small portions but rich food. We had the scallops, lobster risoni, cod, fowl, vanilla cheesecake and chocolate three ways. All really good!

Really tasty food and good service. Lobster orzo was really nice. Complimentary bread was delicious! Recommend booking as we had to book really far in advance for a table on Sunday afternoon.

Very good food quality. Service was good and besides a draughty corner with a brick column behind my elbow, the ambience was ok. The staff did close the window which improved the fraught on our table. However, overall a nice evening with good food. Three course meal for two with one glass of wine each and s coffee was £106, including service

One of the best meals we've had, service was good not pushy and a nice atmosphere. Each course was well balanced and the flavours and presentation superb. I don't use that word very often. I would have preferred my straw potatoes on the top so they stayed crunchy but other than that, excellent .
