The best hot chocolate (and milkshakes in the summer) ever! Cannot recommend this place, and the lovely staff highly enough.
Beautiful hot chocolate, served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. A must visit place for an afternoon treat.
Am a visitor to Rye and as I was driving in saw the sigh outside claiming to be purveyors of the finest hot chocolate, that's quite a claim, but a claim they certainly lived up to. Was the best hot chocolate I think I have ever had. I have been to Hotel Chocolats shop in Leeds where they sell various hot chocolates (I am rather fond of it), however, I have to say that Knoops is not only better, but better value for money. My only regret is that I am going back home tomorrow after only just having discovered this place.
First place we always visit when we are in the area , amazing hot chocolate , chilli and orange is my fave
We had the 39% chocolate and it was amazing! Very sweet but a perfect afternoon treat. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
As someone who is lactose intolerant I have the 54% dark chocolate with soya milk. It's Delicious with a capital 'D'. I couldn't recommend it enough.
I can safely say, without fear of contradiction, that this was the single best hot chocolate i have ever tasted. My 70% Sao Tome dark chocolate was delicious but the 34% milk chocolate drink was rich and sweet and tasted of butter and hazelnuts made my mouth sing and my head swim with joy. What a lucky discovery. I will have no choice but to drive back to Rye soon to have another cup!
I had a 34 or 37% chocolate milk shake best milkshake I've ever had it was heaven. Friendly staff too. Will go back here next time in rye
We popped into Knoops on Sunday while in Rye. My hubby had a 64% dark hot choc and I had a white choc milkshake which were both delicious 👍 Thoroughly recommend anyone to pop in if in Rye.
Most amazing hot chocolate and milkshakes you will ever come across. Staff are ALWAYS so friendly and helpful if you’re wanting a bit of guidance to creating your unique hot chocolate.
28% (white chocolate) and lime is my go to first and last place we visit whenever in Rye.
Undoubtedly the best hot chocolate in Sussex and probably the rest of the world too! Such high quality customer service makes my detour on the way home all the more special!
The strawberry champagne marshmallows topped with gold leaf are AMAZING! Mr Knoop has crammed the sweetness and flavour of a punnet of strawberries into each fluffy cube.
I cannot wait for my next visit!
Thankyou for existing!
The 43% cocoa with hazelnut and butterscotch hot chocolate was absolutely delicious. A lovely, warming treat for a very crisp morning.
Amazing a must go to in Rye, I love anything caramel so went with the 34%
Milk chocolate. Best hot chocolate ever.
Knoops' hot chocolate is fantastic! I am a vegan and all the 54%+ chocolate powder is vegan. They can make it with regular, almond or soya milk. You can add flavours such as mint, orange, ginger or alcohol. Highly recommended!
Knoops is as lovely as ever - lovely, velvety chocolate and a tasty mince pie. Always a fascinating range of chocolate on offer - this time, tried the 64% with fig infusion flavour.
Lovely hot chocolate. My kids wanted one each and the staff even cooled it down so they could drink it straight away. Came back a couple days later for more!
Out of this world hot chocolate! Worth getting a cup before setting off down the high street to explore Rye. Loads of different beans to choose from, all with % and tasting notes. You can also add various extras for free. I got 75% Tanzania with a pinch of Maldon sea salt and it was incredible. The queue gets long but there is a bench outside.
If your after the best hot chocolate or milkshake this is the place for you located by the tower forge in rye, with many percentages to pick from ranging from white, milk and dark.
Plus you can pick from a range of spices to add to the drinks always makes coming back even more tempting a 34% with sea salt is one on my absolute must trys.
Knoops have THE BEST hot chocolate/milkshakes! One of our favourite places to visit when heading to Rye.
Their flakes on sale mean you can make perfect drinks at home too!
Very good hot chocolate we went three times in two days whilst on holiday. We tried the 43% which we also took home to make and the cold 53%. A great concept and hot chocolate done very well. Can’t wait to visit the Oxford branch back home.
I am quite a regular to this wonderful hot chocolate shop and often go their on my break. Staff are always so friendly and helpful and milkshakes are always done to the highest standard. I remember when knoops first opened many years ago in rye. It has always been a must visit and it has been great to watch grow and offer more beverages over the years. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting rye.
I love how c.21 varieties of chocolate is available for hot chocolate and 4 for cold drinks, along with virtually all varieties of non-dairy milk.
As well as drinks in store, you can also buy the chocolate powder to take away and make at home, along with various appliances.
It's the second branch I have visited and I'll make my way around the others soon.
We visit this shop every time we come to Rye. This time it was a white chocolate milkshake, delicious and my partner had a 36% iced chocolate with soy milk. Also bery tasty.
Knoops promised the finest hot chocolate and they certainly delivered. By far the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted. I went for the 43% milk chocolate option with butterscotch and hazelnuts notes, yummy. I'm going to be back to try the other 21 choices. Keep up the good work guys, cracking concept.
The best hot chocolate.
Essentially come to Rye for Knoops before driving round the corner to walk the dogs on camber sands.
Favourite is 70% dark with oat milk.
Have bought the chocolate flakes as gifts too, 100% dark was a surprising favourite with a more savoury taste.
*not huge fan of it Iced as the flakes don't incorporate to get the same rich flavour.
*would love if they could make milkshakes with dairy free ice cream but I understand that df icecream costs a lot more to buy in. Tried it at home with Swedish glace df* vanilla ice cream ❤️
