We had an amazing meal here tonight. The food was amazing. It was quiet, which was a shame because the food is brilliant. The staff were very friendly and really accommodating. We would go back here, without a doubt. Really good value for money too, we brought home what we didn't manage to finish and our boys gobbled it up when we got home. The food was spicy, but in no way overpowering. Yum yum yum!

Great South Indian Food, with great ambience. If you are visiting Isle of Wight and looking for a South Indian restaurant/ taste, I would strongly recommend Chumma Kitchen. Plain Dosa, Ghee roast, parota, idiyappam, Sweet / Mango Lassi are the ones we tasted and would give 5/5 for taste / quality and quantity. The sambar is not like restaurant taste but like home made. But other than that. It's delicious. We stayed in Newport 3 days and have travelled there for every evening for dinner. And would definitely come again if we visit Isle of Wight. Thanks

I purchased the fish curry with pilaw rice as a takeaway. I wasn't able to eat the meal for many hours as I was travelling back home. Reheated this was a surprisingly good dish; full of curry leaves, coconut milk and tamarind flavours. If you're after an authentic Indian taste and don't mind waiting a little extra time, this is for you. The best I've tried on the IoW.

Found this new Sri Lankan restaurant in Ryde and was excited to try the Masala Dosa's, which we have had before in another establishment (Crawley). We started with the Ulunthu Vada's. Delicious spicy dounuts and dips. The Dosa's looked promising, we're crispy, huge and freshly made. The Dosa Spicy Potato filling and accompanying sides were delicious. Unfortunately the actual Dosa was too thick and had an oily after taste. I sadly was only able to eat the middle with the filling as the sides were too oily for my taste. Dad felt the same too, (also a Dosa fan). Still giving 4 stars though as the service was friendly and prompt. Lots of other choice on the menu so would visit again, maybe to try something different. The Chef maybe just needs to tweak the Dosa Recipe and cooking method, to make it lighter and less oliy, as other reviews have said the same. Due to the friendly service and plentiful choices on the menu still happy to recommend.

I ordered a chicken Dosa to take away. Oh my word! Best outside of Sri Lanka itself. Unbelievable. I’d come back to the isle of white purely to eat this again!

The food here is fantastic, really authentic with a genuine home-cooked feel. I travel frequently to India with my family and we all think it’s a Godsend to be able to enjoy such good food on the Island. The service is sometimes a bit amateurish, but think of it as eating out at a neighbour’s place rather than in a professional kitchen, with very affordable prices to match!

As a native Sri Lanka, I can honestly recommend the food here. Given they have recently opened, and they had a limited menu, I was still impressed by the selection of food on offer. The service was fantastic, very accomodating given we had such a short time frame to catch the ferry. I think they still have a few operational processes to sort out, but over all well worth the trip if your ever local!

** It should be noted, as it appears to be overlooked by some "Reviewers" that this is a SRI LANKAN restaurant. Sri Lanka is NOT India, it's a different country and cusine with regional variations** Positives: Fantastic to see some interesting cusine on the IOW beyond the monotonous Fish &Chips... The menu is varied with wide range of meat/vegetarian dishes The menu options include various traditional Sri lamkan foods (which reminded me of my own travels there) Portion sizes fair. Good sized pieces of chicken Well spiced and flavoured. Front of House staff were friendly Restaurant appeared clean Negatives; Staff working on Sri Lanka time. Food completion can be slow. Despite ordering over the phone for collection, I had to call again to ensure that It was nearly ready (as the last time we arrived to collect, it was another 30minute wait). if customers have to wait that long, good service would dictate complimentary drink/snack however this was not the case Would like King Prawn option

Proper hot Sri Lankan food, so the perfect way to wake up taste buds swamped by the IoW's usual white food (you know, the bland Sunday roasts, soggy fish and chips, and overdone burgers). Try the fish cutlets, vadai, dosa, kothu and some unusual devilled dishes. Oh and the flakey roti is pukka. Sleepy service could be improved. The multiple loud Bollywood screens and, unaccountably, different background music give an authentic if noisy atmosphere. A welcome change of pace to the island's relatively monotonal food culture.

Food not too spicy, perfect for me. Unlike other Indian restaurant I've been to, so spicy I can't taste the food
