Great bar people, very welcoming. I walked in a lady by myself and left feeling like a friend. Dave who does the karaoke had a fantastic voice in fact non of the singer's sounded bad, a very good following. Even though I have been told Dave and his lovely wife might do some disco night's at The Falcon Ryde Isle of Wight I do hope that they Tey the karaoke there as well. The younger followers are good and some of the not older yet not a nipper lol Craig being one I think between him and Dave I can listen to all night and I like the country tunes so there is a great mixture of era's there let alone the regulars. Maybe a mixture night would be fab to try. Either way it won't stop me going to be the castle every week (if I'm not skint) lol. Even during the day with it being a regulars pub I could walk in alone and leave as a regular x great owners, great welcome, great place to drink and no I'm not even getting a free drink because it's true x
Great "Fullers" Pub! All the Ales on tap were excellent. Very warm and welcoming staff. Worth the walk up the hill!
Nice friendly pub will definitely be back
The only place to be on Saturday to watch the racing
A great little pub, great landlord and landlady , lovely friendly bar staff and fantastic juke box
Best landlord and landlady on the island
Beer speaks for it self, always feel welcome
I used to drink hsb at the castle in Ryde 30 years ago. going back in a couple of weeks - I wonder if it still tastes as good?!?
Lively friendly atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Love it!
Nice friendly pub. Lovely pint of Chiswick Bitter!
Great thing about this pub is that you are made to feel welcome by staff and the customers.........
Every time I go to ryde I always start of here! Juke box so you can choose your own music! Friendly staff! TV with sports on. Highly recommended :D
Beautiful place, food, staff are very pleasant and nothing too much trouble.... Planning on visiting again
Things are finally looking up. Out with the old. In with the new. A very warm welcome to the new landlord Ross. Our knight in shining armour. Dont panic you still have me and kristy to keep you all in check too. You dont get off that lightly. Looking forward to seeing you old regulars. Come see us again soon. We miss you x
Nice menu, excellent food at reasonable prices
I managed to get a free stay at Ryde Castle when I switched energy companies and my friend and I stayed here for the night. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were kind and helpful and our room was lovely. It’s 5 minutes walk from anywhere you need to go. The breakfast selections are plentiful, we had cooked breakfast which costs £12 but you can have as much as you want. Absolutely delicious too. I doubt I could afford to stay here as it is a really decent hotel so was very happy to get such an amazing freebie.
Found this place while on an evening walk exploring our first evening in Ryde. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Found us a table despite being busy and quickly took our orders. Food came quickly, well presented and piping hot. Absolutly delicious. Owners came and chatted to us and were interested in where we came from (Wales). Lovely people and very friendly. Will come happily come back again.
Perfect location, easy to get around and we got to have nice evening walks along the seafront, food was also lovely. Room was a nice size, although we did stay in a room (room 7) close to the stairs and hearing people drunkenly stumbling to their rooms in the evening wasn't great due to being a light sleeper, decor is abit dated and some of the furniture was a little thread bare could definitely do with a little tlc, still has its charms though. Staff were lovely and accommodating, downside was the one time we did actually get to come down for breakfast was having to wait half an hour when we were basically the last people to eat. Regardless, we would definitely still return as it wasn't an extreme inconvenience and there was more positives then negatives and we still managed to have a great anniversary weekend just hope to not get a first floor room next time. 😁
Breakfast was included in our room price. We also ate our evening meals in the ground floor restaurant and found the food excellent - nicely cooked, well presented and sensible portion size however due to a delivery problem, the menu was rather depleted.
The bedrooms along the front of the hotel have sea views. There is a lift to all floors but during our stay was not working. Staff went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable and we would definitely consider a return visit.
Had dinner in the restaurant, halloumi fries were fabulous, and then out came the star of the show, the camembert Mac and cheese. My word it was amazing, had the stake aswell and miking the dishes together was beautiful.
Only thing I would say is that they should make the mac n cheese available in a smaller portion.
Amazing meal
Had a quick lunch, juicy cheese and bacon burger. My wife chose the sea bass and scallop risotto which he enjoyed as it was very tasty. They welcomed our dogs, very enjoyable experience and well worth a visit.
Had a meal here last week, the food was really nice and good value for money, the service let's it's down, very slow and we didn't even get our desserts, I had to go back to the bar 30 minutes later and get a refund as we didn't have time to wait any longer.
They said the waiter forgot to tell the kitchen, but I thought it was automatic once you ordered at the bar, so not sure what went wrong.
Thank you to all who catered for our son and daughter in law , Richard and Sarah Millard's wedding on 30th August. After being let down at the last minute from thier previous venue. In little over 2 months to thier wedding day you really pulled it out of the bag and saved the day for them. It was one of the happiest days for them , family and friends. The food was absolutely amazing, with everyone in agreement. All the staff were brilliant. We cannot thank you enough. Please keep up the good work . Even though we didn't have rooms we would still give you more stars if we could.
Didn't stay, but ate and drunk here. Manager was great, looked after us, and all of the " Don't give a ruck" ladies rugby team. Thanks a lot.
Nearly opposite the pier & the beach . Good seating outside to sit in sun with drink. The meals were great - my mother tried my apple / blackberry cumble & liked so much we had to go back next day so she could have one all to herself . Staff outstanding. 1st time went in there we was treated like old friends. Next time I go to I O.W - will make sure I go there again.
