Best pub ./ restaurant in the village. A excellent range of beers, wines and spirits. Lovely big beer garden out the back. With tables and umbras. Garden games available (ball, cheques etc). The customer service is fantastic. Just a great place to have a drink or eat.
Popped in this lovely village pub for a business lunch, the staff were very friendly and the food was spot on. Lovely original features and low beams give a cozy warming atmosphere. Will definately return!
Lovely pub. We frequent all the Time Well Spents in the area and cannot fault them. The service is 100% and the food is always lovely. And being able to have a child's portion of roast dinner was extremely lovely, Not having a large appetite. We will and do always recommend our family and friends that this is our favourite chain and wiil continue to use all the times we can.

After several changes of landlord over the past few years the Plough slipped off our radar for a local place to go. I'm happy to report it has bounced back under its new ownership, the menu is short but well presented and the food is home cooked and plentiful. Tonight there was live entertainment in the beautiful well maintained garden and the pub has re-established it's place in the village. A wonderful evening and I shall definitely be back.
Great pub, effective and honest food, perfect winter hideout with real fires, lovely lovely 😊 staff, cool space, child and dog friendly,
Lovely pub with traditional character and open fires. The “Nunnery” room upstairs is great for gatherings with the girls to make it feel special. The new manager is really friendly and welcoming and it was so thoughtful to put on Rememberance day refreshments for charity.
Food is great with good portions and I love the new menu- I had “Thyme Chicken” and the mushroom sauce was perfect, not sickeningly creamy and plenty of mushrooms. Looking forward to returning for a burger soon.
Beautiful pub. Amazing food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful old country pub with lots of character.
We went on a Sunday and had the roast beef and nut roast, which were both equally delicious. The sweets looked amazing, but we were too full to have one.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Great selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Definitely going again.
Dropped in on a Thursday evening for their £10 steak night deal and was very pleasantly surprised by the pub and staff.
The starter charcuterie board which we shared was lovely and the steaks that followed equally good. The side dish of onion rings was a little disappointing (I think they might have been frozen ones), but overall a nice meal out with very friendly staff.
Lovely staff, helpful, polite and friendly, despite not necessarily knowing what was on the menu. Food was harty and good value. It would have been a 5* if the beer was better, it was past its best condition IMHO.
Perfect Saturday evening family meal out. Walked into a buzzy, warm and inviting atmosphere. Harrie, our waitress, was super friendly, attentive and ensured that everything was okay for us which made the experience even better. Can definitely recommend the homemade pies. I had the lamb kleftiko pie which was delicious and the whole family were satisfied and happy with their food too! Best pub of revived inns for sure.
Super Friendly Staff Great Atmosphere but eat upstairs at your peril if it is cold outside It's a very old building and obviously not as warm as modern Buildings The Staff are aware of this and did their very best to provide extra heating. The Food was average, but the Enthusiasm of the Staff and the Top Notch Pint of Harvey's more than compensated.Well done all at The Plough
Stopped for food on a Saturday evening. We ordered drinks and were shown to our table. Food arrived in a timely manner and we both agreed the dishes we chose were amazing. Freshly cooked with pride. Staff were super attentive and friendly.
Without doubt this is the best pub for miles. If you want genuine homemade food that's absolutely delicious you won't find better anywhere
Absolutely brilliant pub, great friendly welcome, gorgeous food and beer. Only 5 stars available but deserves more.
Really good food at a reasonable price. Luckily there is a public car park across the road as there is no parking at the pub itself.
We went on a Tuesday and obliged to leave by just after 9 as we were the only ones left
Charming pub and superb choice of food. Harriet (our waitress) was charming and couldn't have been more attentive. Definitely going back very soon
Great place this very very low ceiling, ancient building with a polite and nice service, steak night on Thursday 10 quid ! We had charcuterie board which was a bit light but very tasty, highly recommend there is a quiz night on Wednesday so I'd avoid wednesdays after 8pm..
Lovely old building with low beams and plenty of character. Just what you want in a country village pub. Unfortunately, for some of our party the food wasn't up to their usual standard.
Went for the paint and sip.
It's a lovely little pub, short people are fine, tall people should watch their heads :)
This is the 2nd time I have been here and was a little surprised regarding the service.
It was during pub quiz night...so not a normal evening.
Felt very disjointed, but we plan on going back on a normal night.
Very old school, head bumping style country pub. Service was good and food was nice. Had a mixed roast, which was lovely but considering the additional cost, there was no significant difference in quantity of food. Appreciate the cost might just be for the privilege of having 3 different meats but personally I don't see why this has to equates a fairly reasonable increase in cost.
For anyone without the appetite of a large horse, this place would be a lovely spot for a Sunday lunch, I'm just being greedy.
I had a very satisfying lunch of fish finger ciabatta with salad and homemade coleslaw.
Lovely low-beamed old building. Mind your head!
MAY 2022: I had an excellent lunch of ham, egg, peas & chips and pint of Ranmore IPA.
This is a lovely little country pub in a beautiful building. It is cozy and snug with a roaring open fire. It is a great place to go for a drink or a meal. They have a good selection on the menu and the food was well cooked and presented. They also have a nice selection of ales and wines. I can very much recommend this place and will be going back.
This is the "country pub" you are looking for. Pay attention to the many "Mind your head" signs. The ceilings are low and crooked, with some beams being padded. I'm no giant and certainly I caught my head once or twice. Still a great spot to start or end a walk, especially when the 🔥 is roaring. Haven't had a meal there for a couple of years, but it was always good. Nice large group table upstairs that will comfortably hold 12. Recommend booking for that!
