We stayed for the first time this weekend, for Wills birthday. The staff were very welcoming and the room was spotless. The views are spectacular and our dog Bruno was treated like royalty. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether they have two legs or four. Thank you for a fabulous stay, we will be back x

Wonderful. All the staff so attentive definitely went the extra mile as I forgot to pack everything when leaving. Evening meal and breakfast was superb. The view of the bay from our room and the dinning room just fabulous. Will definitely stay again. Thank you Cliffemount.

Friendly staff, comfortable and cozy bedroom overlooking the sea, plenty and lovely breakfast. Even Mark, I think that was the kind receptionist's name, carried our suitcase upstairs. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend the place.

Loved my stay here! Was travelling for work. Walk down to the beach took approx 5 minutes, and was lovely. Good warning on their website about the walk being steep/potentially unsuitable for vulnerable people and it was as decribed. Safe, quiet area. Upgraded to a sea view room for free - to my pleasant surprise it had a balcony and the sea view was spectacular. Room was spotlessly clean, comfy bed and shower was hot and powerful. Friendly, helpful staff. Only downside was TV is absolutely tiny, but I don't really watch TV so not really an issue for me.

I have to say that we had one of the most enjoyable weekend stays at Cliffemount that we've had in a long time. Now a lot of things contributed to our weekend and the hotel certainly played it's part. For anyone who's stayed or thinking about staying there, we have to talk about the elephant in the room, the hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment so, don't go expecting a luxurious stay. That said, the hotel is situated in one of the best locations affording some of the best (to die for) views ever along the East coast. The staff were great, the food was good so, it's one of those hotels that is absolutely more than the sum of its parts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cliffemount Hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was warm and comfortable. It was not advertised as having a sea view but the ensuite window and a velux window did actually face the sea. The position of the hotel on the cliff top is excellent and Runswick Bay village and beach were lovely. We also had good breakfasts (full English and Continental.) We booked through OYO which gave very good value. We definitely hope to stay there again.

We had a one night break, we really enjoyed our stay made extra special by the stunning view of the bay from our room. Staff couldn't do enough for us, very pleasant and very welcoming towards our two dogs. We ate in the hotel and the food was lovely.

Pleasantly located on a headland overlooking the bay, large garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Good sized room with private facilities and a balcony/ terrace to garden. Friendly, helpful staff just getting orientated upon opening. Great breakfast, reasonable evening menu, well distanced dining tables and Covid precautions. Reasonable value.

Amazing views and helpful friendly staff. The room was a little dated and slightly worn but very comfortable. The evening meal was very nice and a very good choice for breakfast would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel. The view over the bay is both spectacular and relaxing. We have been coming for a number of years and will continue for many more. The staff are extremely friendly and caring. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the beds comfy and the showers hot and powerful. We have two dogs and the staff could not be more accommodating. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The staff were extremely attentive and couldn’t of done enough . Clean room . Tea and coffee , as much as you’d like . clean bed linen and towels , shower gels ect .. cooked breakfast and evening meals catered for and cooked to perfection !!! All staff had excellent customer service and always asked how our meal was ensuring satisfaction . The views are beautiful , you can sit outside where there are seated benches in a well kept area . Nothings too much for the staff in this hotel . It would be nice to return soon . Thankyou to all for a pleasant stay . Jennie and nick :)

Great location at the top of the cliff, lots of steps if you want to walk down to the beach, for the fit and able is fine however you can drive down. The room was large and comfortable, needs a little TLC but ok for a night or two, we did not eat or use the bar so cannot comment. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has been here a long time as I've stayed here before....however I can only speak for myself obviously and I know how I felt staying here .. It was all very relaxing and cosey and the staff were very good to me indeed ....in fact they almost waited on me hand and foot...and it was a Bank Holiday....I wanted for nothing. The room was massive with a queen sized very comfy bed and a very large spotlessly clean bathroom ....with a stunning view of Runswick Bay . Marvelous to park up in the hotel area and in you go type thing and it's your base to also keep nipping back to... for a snack and a very refreshing drink. In fact it was one of the most relaxing and leave me be laid back breaks I think I've ever had ....and I have no complaints myself whatsoever ....thanks guys !!🙂

excellent Hotel set in a fantastic location overlooking Runswick Bay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Have stayed here many times before. Now under new management. Food menu is ok including a choice of cooked or continental breakfast. My only gripe was that if you only want something other than a full breakfast cooked , like say beans on toast, you still have to pay £10! which is a bit expensive I think? Other than that, a lovely place to stay.
