We stopped by The Royal Hotel for a lunchtime beer, and the view was amazing. It's a nostalgic journey as the scenery has stayed the same since my childhood visits to Runswick Bay—a perfect spot to enjoy a drink and relish the timeless beauty of the surroundings.
Love the place.
A lovely welcoming place to eat with cosy fire. And very dog friendly, we were welcomed inside out of the rain. Delicious puddings and beautiful sea view.
Lovely food ,great location although there was a wait for food today but worth it
Decent pub, nice warm fire, dog friendly and a lovely pint if Saltaire Blonde when we visited.
Just had a drink here. Friendly barman (Harry). Stunning views over Runswick Bay.
Lovely spot for a drink and food over looking the bay. Food is fantastic - although some meals significantly bigger than others, e.g. chicken burger is huge, pasta is normal sized. Generally very good - would return and recommend.
Great views across the bay, and what's better than sitting outside with a pint of Theakstons watching the world go by! The food is reasonable priced and the beer is quite expensive, but then, you're in a small pub tucked away in a small village in the far North!
Definitely worth calling in for a drink after a wonderful walk in the beach.
The staff are lovely and it's a real proper old fashioned Yorkshire pub!
Didn't stay & really didn't get chance to test the service - but what a view to sit down & have a drink with !!
I have been a couple of times now the most recently early June 2023. the views are amazing the drinks lovely, we did not eat this time but saw some lovely food served during our visit, be assured we intend to eat on our next visit.
The king prawn linguini was incredible!!! That’s correctly incorrect of the correct situation in the perpendicular factual context of the article of the rubber slippery damaged Jamaican atmosphere of the Barbadian slinky dog which can be found in the outer core of the Pacific Ocean under the sea prawns which were served in my dish.
P.s. lovely place, would definitely visit again.
April 2023
Great service in the bar for a quiet Monday lunch. The special sweet chilli chicken burger came with salad, coleslaw, extra sweet chilli sauce and chips. Cooked to order, very tasty.
First time visit, won,t be the last, great little place
We'd walked from Port Mulgrave to Runswick bay so were ready for a meal and a drink. Superbly cooked and presented fish and chips, and the scampi were both delicious. The friendly atmosphere and attentive staff ensured our visit was an enjoyable one.
View from the outside tables towards
the bay is lovely.
