I registered back with this practice back in January after leaving many years ago, and have got to say I can't thank the staff hear enough starting with all the ladies on reception to the 3 doctors I have been fortunate in seeing. Now a few months ago I had a breakdown at work following the pressures my company has put me under. Now on each occasion the receptionists have spoken too πŸ‘ have gone above and beyond to get me an appointment to see a g.p. and the doctors themselves have been so friendly and caring to me at this dificult time, but I would just like to say a special thank you to the mental health nurse called tess who phoned me up this morning. Now I was going to say so many positive things about her but I still don't think It would be enough to sum up this professional caring lady. So the only thing left I have to say is thank you 😊 castlefields health centre for taking me back as a patient, and keep up all your exceptional work.

I have been at this practice for over 25 years. Since the NHS has changed, so has the surgery. I have had some amazing support, but also some terrible times. I have had some great receptionists who genuinely care, such as Mo and Annette. I have also experienced some that seem to be having a bad day whenever I encounter them, with quite sharp mannerisms I have had to spend years building up a rapport with GP's to be heard, this has been hard to do, especially with the current only 2 partners. But due to locums. However this I feel has been a standard in the NHS prior to Covid. Dr McCosh is my current GP and I would not see another, as someone with long term care needs a doctor who knows you, your history is vital. I had to the same with Dr Domville too. In fact it actually upset me when she left, because it took years to build that. Dr McCosh I know personally works in her holiday time, because she has called to ask me something when on holiday. That is something we all see or are aware of. If a mistake has been made, usually not serious she will apologise. I have seen Dr Holden go from a new GP to partner and have also witnessed his attitide change within that, not in a good way either. If you don't have long term care needs, it is not the same as the problems people encounter with long term care..but always stick to a doctor you can build up a rapport with, long term it helps you both. But I am also aware not a single one of us knows the bureaucracy that they have to deal with. I miss the surgery that was 25 years ago, but I think that the system is part of the problem and it is widespeead.

I would just like to post a review about the excellent service which Castlefields Health Centre provides, the receptionists are fantastic, the doctors also. In all the years I have used this practice, I have NOT had one bad experience. Everybody goes out of their way to make sure you receive the help you can get. The doctors are also fantastic. What I don't understand is why people kick off at the receptionists if there are no appointments left. it is NOT their fault. Here is an example. Last week I called in to make an appointment to see a doctor, but I suddenly felt really unwell. I managed to get to see a doctor. whilst in the room, all of my left side went limp. The doctor in question went to reception RIGHT AWAY the girls there phoned an ambulance. I received the best help whilst I was in there, it so happened that I had to be taken to hospital . so why on earth people complain about this practice is beyond me, as they are also very very good with my mum who is in poor health. She has even said to the girls that she is receiving lthe best medical attention ever. So please be patient if you cannot get an appointment, remember there are only so many, so its first come, first served. If you are not happy with this service, then change doctors. Don't moan at the receptionists.

New to area, and went to register with practitioners here,as a person with some health issues I was pleased to be greeted by a lovely receptionist who helped with forms and explained procedures,as well as going about helping others, she was continually reassuring and helped me enormously with advice, to my surprise the day after, she rang to follow up on my problem and progress, thank you so much alicia you are a wonderful, kind ,helpful human being. there are not enough adjectives to describe what a genuine person you are, yours is one of the first faces people see and you are a credit to the practice,I can only hope the doctors and other staff live up to your standards but you have set the bar high thank you

I may be in the minority but I have had excellent treatment from Castlefields Health Centre...sometimes there is a bit of a wait to get through on the phone but once through the receptionists are very helpful in getting you a telephone consult or an appointment where necessary..well done

As a patient of over 40 years,I have seen many changes both good and bad. Most of these are governmental not individual surgeries. The receptionists are the front line troops who take the flack. They, like the Doctors are limited to what they are allowed to do by the government.
