I love the Stag. Proper pub. Why? Good beer, friendly welcome, games (pool, darts, cheese hurling, dominoes, crib), a freecycle bookshelf, food and quiz night. What more do you need?

Passing through on our boat & fancied a couple of drinks after a long day. Chose the Stag and Pheasant and we're glad we did - lovely old-style pub atmosphere with a welcome from the barmaid and made to feel at home by the locals. No food but who cares? A welcoming drinking pub. Perfect!

A cosy local dog friendly pub with a lovely fire and welcoming bar staff. A good choice of ales and beers and only a short walk from the Canal. Enjoyed a nice pint here!

Called in on the off-chance with my wife and a couple of friends. We were greeted by a friendly landlord, and had an excellent meal. Nothing pretentious - ham, eggs and chips and fish and chips, but it was freshly cooked, delicious, and served with a smile - nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for some good old-fashioned hospitality.

Absolutely delicious food at Evsy's Kitchen, fantastic service from the chef himself. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. We went on a Friday evening and also for lunch on Sunday -- best Sunday roast I've had.

Well kept real ale. A little noisy with all the TVs on in the bar. Lounge was closed to the public for a private function so couldn't move to there.

It's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere we arrived late to check in and we was shown to our room it was lovely and clean the bedding was really good and the breakfast was really tasty .. nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff if I was to go back to visit my family I wouldn't haste as we had a warm welcome. Even sharing a bathroom didn't put a damper on our stay as it was spotless.

Under new management. Very friendly staff who made us and our dog very welcome. Enjoyed the food here, lovely sirloin steak cooked exactly as ordered. Brewery is to undertake a refurbishment which will improve the venue.

A small but nice and friendly local. Only one real ale on tonight, but it seemed to have been looked after very well - best pint of Marston's Pedigree I've had for a long time.
