Magnificent food in a relaxed atmosphere. Locally sourced food especially venison and steak beautifully cooked Certainly worth the trip Restaurant would probably benefit from some updating at some point but doesn't detract from the dining experience Thank you

We highly recommend this lovely & cosy pub with a warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. We were able to sit in the bar area next to the open fire. It was quick & easy to book a table online. My hubby had a starter of homemade rosemary bread (just out of the oven) & roasted tomato & pepper soup. Venison bourguignon & mash & Chocolate brownie & ice cream for dessert. I had 8oz Sirloin steak, chunky chips, mushrooms, tomato & onion rings & Rhubarb crumple with cherry ice cream. All in all we had a delicious & tasty meal which was really good value for money.

It was an awesome experience. Don't let the look intrigue you. Dog friendly, great food, wonderful service. The catch of the day really tastes like fresh from boat into the pan. We got introduced to one of the most refreshing Pilsener and a superb gin. A hidden gem and definitely on our list for our next visit to Cornwall.

Stopped in on the off chance to see if they did a Sunday roast. We were cutting it fine, but the lady behind the bar managed to squeeze us in, albeit outside. Nice, independent selection of beers and cider on tap. The roast was lovely, only two roasties, but this was more than made up for for a plentiful portion of lamb and a massive Yorkshire pud! Very good selection of veg brought out and everything was super tasty (top marks for the gravy!) Only marked down for loos, bit dark n dingey and no sign of mint sauce! (outside so couldn't take the time to go and ask for it as my food would go cold!) All in all, a cracking little pub, well worth the diversion!)

Best meal I have had in years. Lovely and inventive starters. Absolutely incredible risotto and seafood dishes. Bar knowledge was very impressive too.

Sunday lunch at this unpretentious but ideal pub in a lovely area was beautifully cooked with proper food from REAL LOCAL producers was how Sunday lunch is meant to be and a choice of local beef , pork or venison was ideal. Good puds as well

Im a fatty right, I end up eating out a fair bit around Cornwall so it’s fair to say I know what’s good and bad. Me and the other half went there for Sunday lunch. Food was absolutely amazing, both of us had starters and mains and we couldn’t get as far as a dessert. EVERYTHING was really well presented and tasted amazing, this is definitely at the top of a very short list of places I will visit again

Little pub in a quiet village, in a nice setting. Food was good but not wow, the menu slightly changed due to a ‘new chef’ so they weren’t entirely clear what the new items were. On tap were two bitters but no other ales, which was a bit of a shame. Nice friendly staff. Could do with luck of paint!

Although the height of summer lunch time was very quiet. We arrived earlier than our booking but that was not an issue. Our meals came out quickly and having spoken to the chef regarding his delicious Wild Boar Stew I can see his passion came through in what was a lovely meal. The house burgers were a hit as well. We even recommended the place to someone whilst queuing for fish & chips in St Mawes a few days later.
