Brilliant food and service. We had a takeaway for my birthday and it was amazing food. Chicken naga, chilli rice, both with the perfect amount of spice. Wife had chicken pasande and this was juicy succulent chicken. Will definitely be returning again.
When ordering, place directly and try to avoided using company's like 'just eat' as they get charge for this service and we want to keep the good ones open. X

My husband and I had a takeaway this evening and it was a different level! We had chicken achari and lamb jalfrezi - I would definitely recommend both. The food was so fresh and tasty. The back door was open to the kitchen and it was spotless. We will be back for sure. Thanks so much!

I had my first British Raj Express take away tonight. It was superb, as I was hoping it would be. The vegetable saag, mushroom rice, perfect onion bhajis and naan bread were cooked just right and very tasty. The little pots of sauce that came with the poppadoms were delicious. The service was excellent and you were made to feel like a valued customer. Thank you BRE I will be back for more and I wish you all the very best for your future. Carry on like this and you will be the go-to place in Royston.
First takeaway last night. So good, flavours all different. So pleased to have round onion bhaji ! I remember when the Raj first opened, it was so exotic to have an Indian restaurant in Royston. I wish Siraj the very best of luck!

Sometimes, a Wish can come true. The food we had delivered last night was absolutely delicious - couldn't fault a thing. From picking up the phone to place the order to sitting down to dine was all of 40 minutes. It arrived piping hot and tasted so fresh. Welcome back, British Raj <3

Excellent food, friendly staff and very well priced
Exceptional as always. Safwaan, Siraj and team have done them selves proud. Popped in to catch up with some old friends and were treated to an amazing feast. Chicken tikka jalfrezi, chicken tikka and chicken tikka biryani a selection of naan breads and the best onion veggies we've ever tasted. We will be back again next time we are in the area my eldest says once he's past his driving test he will make a trip personally. Thanks again see you soon.
Simply divine. I've tried most of the Indian restaurants around the area and this one tops them all. I've never had an issue with the food. Good portion sizes too.

My family and me picked up a takeaway tonight on our way back home from Baldock at the British Raj in Royston. It was recommended on the Cambridge Curry Community and so wanted to give it a try when passing. I always try to give a fair and balanced review. I would definitely recommend the British Raj. The kids korma was outstanding, consistency and flavour amongst best I have tasted but personally I like heat! Unfortunately the Ceylon lacked a little in heat and for me needed more sour. The Patia was also a little oily, but otherwise very tasty with good heat. The oil though didn’t detract. The meat which was chicken in all dishes was superb and tender. The rice was the best I ever ate, the special rice was a real highlight for me. Incredible flavours and very light. The naan breads were tasty but a bit heavy, I would prefer them lighter and crispier. All in all I would return though and would certainly recommend this to others. The food was a solid 7.5 out of 10 for me. Some parts were a 9, but I have reviewed it as a whole. Really recommend though. For me it was consistent with the other restaurants I have tried in Royston. Bonus marks for the staff who were very friendly and I found out they can deliver to us which is great news! Prices were also very reasonable.

Ordered a delivery from here for the first time over a weekend and it did not disappoint. Some of the local takeaways can be hit and miss on a weekend, due to how busy they can be, but the food from this place was really fresh and tasty. Even the salad was fresh and did not look sorry for itself, which we have received in that state in the past from other takeaways...I sometimes wonder why they bother! Anyway, all dishes tasted good and the rice was flavourful too. We will order from here again for sure!
Absoulety top notch chicken Madras tonight very tasty good portion size. And highly recommend the new nan bread ( cheese and garlic ) .
I am vegan and I was overwhelmed with their amazing huge vegan selection! They also do other dishes vegan on request, plus side dishes and everything is so clearly labelled! The guy who answered the phone was really well informed and it arrived promptly AND WAS DELICIOUS!!! Never going back to another Indian restaurant!

Cracking chicken madras just the right amount of spice and very generous portions. rice and nan cooked perfectly too and made for a very tasty meal . lovely freindly owner and staff . Highly recommend.
Straightforward good quality Indian takeaway keenly priced with swift, friendly service. Food is good rather than gourmet but hits the spot and the team are welcoming. Parking available round the back while you collect your order. Recommended.
Beautiful, tasty food. Excellent service, we collected our food, a naan was missing from our order. A telephone call from British Raj to tell us, & the naan, along with poppadoms delivered within minutes. Thank you for the delicious food and your excellent after care. Just had our first takeaway from the Raj it was absolutely fantastic delicious! I ordered different dishes from what I would normally have would highly recommend the railway station lamb curry I ate the lot ! Husband had king prawn biryani .Haven't had onion bajee like these in years used to having flat ones these were the balls like we used to have years ago.Great chef thank you .Its restaurant quality food hope to see the Raj back where it belongs in the high st .Mr Chodhury senior would be proud!
Had takeaway many times from here, various dishes not just "old faithful". Always been superb. Food hot and tasty, not dripping in oil as some takeaways are.
Not expensive either. Genuinely recommend you try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
This is literally the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Full of colour full of flavour and the owners are amazing and give a great service. Good value for money and a great business to support
