Reviews The Heath Cafe Bar

Working near Royston, on a Friday it's nice to have a beer after work. Always a discussion as where to go for a drink as there are cheaper places to go like Manor House (spoons). The usual comment is £5.20 a pint!! Well I can say that it's worth every penny, They serve a lovely pint and I have never had a bad one!!!! There is a really good selection of beers, Adnams, Brewdog to name a few. This Friday we had seven slices of different cake all smashing. Whoever looks after the bar does a really good job and when it's a sunny day lovely to sit outside with the Heath as a back drop. Thoroughly deserves 5 stars.

I love this place, it is a real find which you wouldn't know from just driving past, I must admit I stuck my nose up at a sports cafe (I like quality food.) but we gave it a try and the food is really very good (Sunday roasts are freshly cooked and the vegetable selections are great, one of top 5!) the staff are all very friendly. We spend most weekends there and love attending the local events. It's a nice community spirited spot and great to watch dogs having fun in the fields.

This is a great place to go. My husband and I take our son all the time as it's really kid friendly and the staff are so helpful. Good food (amazing cake selection!) and music too.

What a great place for so many things! Good food and drink at the Cafe, lots of wide open space to enjoy wildlife or walk the dog. A whole range of sports and fitness all in one location excellently managed to suit the needs of local people. Brilliant!

Had a birthday celebration here on Sunday 3rd June 2018 (don't know why 13/3/17 is the date given) and would like to thank Toby, Sarah and the team for the excellent food, drinks and service (and arranging the best possible weather!) at this lovely location. We and our guests had a wonderful afternoon and they too were highly complimentary on all aspects of the party.

Me & my husband love walking our dog on the Heath & after a 3/4 mile walk there is nothing better then lunch on the Heath. The dog always has 2 sausages too. I think it's great that the dogs are allowed in the restaurant/bar too.

A lovely venue with great views and service especially Izzy and Caitlin. Sadly some pastries on display to eat are not covered and protected. Excellent venue for special events.

Always a great place to visit, they do nice coffees, have a decent beer and wine selection and have a great selection of breakfast and lunch options. I would particularly recommend the chips, which you can also get covered in cheese. There are often events especially over the summer that are held at the heath cafe and it makes for a great place to visit after a dog walk or going for a run on the heath. It could also be used as a meet up point for people new to royston. The car park is large and free but a bit narrow to get in and out of

A very decent mix of everything. Not the cheapest for drinks, but it is clean, has a nice amount of space, and you are partially paying for the location + space, which are very good. The cakes are pretty decent. Worth it on balance -- definitely worth travelling for 30-45 mins here on a sunny day.

This has to be the place in Royston for a lovely dinner, lunch, drink, snack (or all of the above). We live locally so are here on a regular basis.not only food is delicious, staff are friendly and accomodating for children and dogs. I cannot recommend it enough! The food we got today was kids' fish goujons and chips, adults fish and chips (small platter) and kids' meatballs with gluten free pasta.

Great place to have a quick, snack and drink at. Affordable prices and friendly staff. Coffee takes at least 10 mins which is a bit of a shame. Good experience overall and we will be back.

Good cafe and bike ride stopping point. The place can get very busy and when we have gone there is often a 10min wait for coffee. The saussage roles and cakes are very good!

Good ambience and relaxing nature look. Great service, but bit pricey considering limited options available for vegans (where is the vegan mayonnaise...? :-))

Really good quality food, efficient waiters and waitresses but a 45 minute wait after ordering. Extremely dog friendly inside and out.

Popped in for a bit of coffee and cake late this morning with a colleague. Coffee was palatabl3, but nothing special, in line with something like Costas, but it wasn't the worst one I've ever drunk. My excitement on finding some biscoff cake was sadly extinguished when I tried it and realised it was a gf version and therefore drier and more dense, as is often the case with gf cakes. My colleague's scone however was top notch and I'll deffo be going for that next time. That said though, the service was excellent and everything was kept tidy and clean, despite being so busy. Sitting outside watching all the dogs and their walkers was lovely too. Remember to sit inside if you're not a dog person, because their are lots! I've been here before and although this wasn't my greatest review, I would still recommend it on the strength of previous visits. Maybe next time I'll just opt for tea and scone instead!

A super place for lunch or just coffee and cake. Extensive menu catering for all tastes including children. Both outdoor and indoor dining. There are plenty of tables that cater for large groups and although there is no need to book it’s a good idea for a weekend especially if you want to eat inside. Being situated on the Heath it’s beautiful for enjoying the outdoors and children have lots of space to play. DOG FRIENDLY

Only had one drink there at a post wedding meet up prior to returning to Wales. Great selection of beers to suit most palates, with a balance to modern beers. Three hand pumps included. Wish I could have stayed longer. Great place for families. Didn't have food.
