Passing through Royston, exploring, spotted this gem of a place. Unique themed restaurant, tables balanced on sack barrows, postie bicycles, ink bottles, giant pens and pencils, and huge letters hanging from the ceiling. Only a short wait for delicious food, waitress service was good. Thank you, a delightful memory to end our holiday.

Have been to the Jolly Postie several times, mostly birthdays etc. The last visit was once again excellent. Seated quickly by the waitress, orders taken quickly, drinks arrived after only a couple of minutes wait. Food was excellent once again, we had a bit of a mixture such as hunters chicken pizza, mixed grill, scampi etc. Waitress was polite, helpful and friendly as they all have been on previous visits. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again and again.

Excellent service and very pleasant staff, went there for my nieces 20 birthday meal which was amazing, food was great with a extensive menu choice (for meat eaters) however very few vegetarian options, although majority of our party were meat eaters and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Sundaes a real treat with proper Mister Whippie ice cream, definetly going back there,

Thank you Jolly Postie - Royston. My son celebrated his 7th birthday with a meal in the post van last night with his friends. The food was lovely and the staff did a fantastic job at making his special day go smoothly, which was very much appreciated.

Having been let down elsewhere, the staff here fitted us in for dinner today at the last minute. Really helpful staff, delicious roast dinner and great service! Will definitely be back!

We went to the Jolly Postie for lunch for my daughter’s and dad’s birthday. Great customer service from a young gentleman (sorry, didn’t get his name) who gave us time to order our food and didn’t rush us. He was helpful throughout our meal and joked with our daughter and made her smile. The food was delicious and the children were able to take home their leftover pizza. We’ll definitely be back.

Great atmosphere, come here whenever we go out for a meal. Few more veggy options would be nice but the meals are always delicious.

Brilliant pub. The staff are genuinely second to none, the manager by chance personally greeted us, explained the menu and etiquette (my first English pub as an Aussie) and checked in frequently after pouring a solid room temp beer. The food was magnificent. A beautifully warm cosy place, with a real fire. Great atmosphere, my only complaint was after a short time the Christmas songs began to repeat. Maybe only 20 songs? (We stayed a few hours) Otherwise faultless pub with brilliant staff.

We had a great time the food was very good the staff very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our seats very quick and our drink order was taken and came fast . There is a lot of choice on the adult and kids menu my little girl had a pizza I had the chicken mixed grill and my wife had the butter milk chicken burger . All our food was hot and very tasty it was all good value for money. The way the place is decorated is very interesting my little girl loved it I would definitely recommend coming here I live in Cambridge and will be making the trip back to eat here again

Absolutely fantastic food. The ribs are extremely good, and if you go on the right day, they come with a pint of beer. The waitress was really nice and very good with our 2 year old son. Excellent throughout!!!

Food was good and lots of it. We were served by Charlotte and she went above and beyond to give us the best service, including offering to take a family picture when we were taking selfies.

We had a Birthday meal Saturday lunch, we were a table of 5 adults and 6 children ranging from 7 months to 9 years. We were given a table at the rear of the restaurant so we had plenty of space. The staff were very patient with the children and looked after us very well. The food was very good. The staff brought out my wife’s cake and sang Happy Birthday. We will definitely return. Special thanks to Reese for being very attentive.

Great service, lovely layout, with all the post themed decor and seating. Chips and chicken breast both a bit dry, food otherwise great (and wow, look at that side salad!) RADAR lock on the accessible loo a bit temperamental.

Visited on a Friday lunch time and made a pre booking incase it was busy. The service when I went in was friendly and welcoming which was a great start. The seating was great and the service was nice and punctial. We had our drinks quickly and ordered without a fuss. The food came out pretty quick too which was amazing. The Californian burger was amazing, very juicy and suculant, the chips were spot on too! Even went for a desert witch was the cookie dough sundae... it was incredible! Lots of dough and the ice cream was to die for! The restaurant itself was very clear and had a great vibe to it. Felt like the place was ran with pride. The pricing was good too! For the quality of food it was brilliant! Certainly worth a visit and will hopefully return again soon!

Well priced, quaint, tasty pub food, and chef accommodated well for allergies (much better than most restaurants). Great place for family meals. Vegan options too. Very British place!

Updated 05/03/2023. First time back for a couple of years and it is on the way up again. Yes service is still a touch slow considering the amount of staff there, this might work against them as we had 2 staff serving us rather than just one who would have known where we were order and drink wise etc. Look past that though and it's actually pretty good. The roast chicken dinners were good sizes, maybe lacking one more stuffing balk but overall good. Drink prices quite pricey as per most nowadays. Well worth 4 stars 🌟

This is the first time I have been to the Jolly Postie, although my daughter and son have been several times and said how good it is. My wife and I took them on their birthday, and I was also very impressed. The two waitresses who liked after us were attentive and utterly charming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very nice, good portions, and reasonably priced. My only comment would be that there was a delay with the food coming out from the kitchen; it was not very busy that evening, it may have been a problem in the kitchen, but it certainly didn't detract from the overall very positive experience. We will definitely return, sooner rather than later!

One of the best spots in Royston for good comfort eating at the end of the week. Favourites are the ribs and the nachos. Consistently decent quality and good potion sizes. Attentive staff, attracts a nice crowd and has good atmosphere. I’ve started to go on a regular basis.

Went in with a friend for lunch yesterday (Wednesday lunchtime) with our 2 babies. We were welcomed in and shown to a table where we had enough room to move the buggies out of the way. The waiter offered to get us a highchair and the waitress got the key for me for the changing room as soon as she saw me approaching to ask! Made to feel really welcome, not always the way when you go somewhere with a baby! Thank you! Nice food too!

Great place, nice style and very cozy. The food was good, very good portion. Just one thing happened today: we have been seated and then the staff forget about us, other people arrived and has been served before us.

We have visited the JP on several occasions when visiting family in the area. It nice. But I found the food a little over priced. But Mum in Law likes it. So we'll go again.

Visited for a family get-together. Nice place, goog atmosphere, but food service was quite slow. Had to wait an hour between starters and main course.
