I smiled as I left. Happy in the knowledge that I had one of the best pub food experiences. This is British food at its best, prepared and delivered with heart and care.
Highly recommended. Good menu, staff very friendly. Lovely environment.

Starters and mains all delicious, desserts a tiny bit underwhelming.
OK selection of beers and a good wine list without too many options.
Catered well for the vegan in our group - email ahead though.
Would go again.
Beautiful food, excellent attentive friendly service. Warm atmosphere with a cool clean cut decor. Ample sized dining table and sumptuous leather seating. Handy car park to the rear. Fun dinner with friends. A faultless evening had at The Black Pig.
Excellent Christmas lunch for our group of 10 friends. Lovely service too. The food is really delicious and imaginative. Roaring log fire and Christmas decorations makes it a cozy place in the festive season.
Had our company Xmas meal here. The scotch egg starter is delicious, the steak burger was amazing and the puddings were all spectacular. Service was also great, offering a genuine and friendly attitude.
Welcoming friendly atmosphere. A tastefully decorated comfortable pub with a good choice of beers and lagers. I didn't eat there this time but the food looked great and I will certainly be eating there in the near future
Amazing food. We dropped in here for Sunday lunch. Had seen it recommended online so expected something perhaps slightly above average but it was really very tasty.
I had duck which was cooked to perfection with lovely crispy skin and moist, flaky meat. My friend had hake - the portion was large
Service... Excellent. Food... Excellent. We had a roast dinner with my family today as we couldn't get to our usual pub as traffic. So pleased we found somewhere so friendly especially the waitress and waiter!
An absolutely stellar evening with friends, made even more memorable thanks to the food. We travelled with friends from both London and Paris, and were super impressed by the quality of the food. Heck, even the humble (read crass) scotch egg is quite the treat here. The pork belly and fish and chips
Popped in later in the evening with my wife and had a main course only. Service was great. The wine was just right and the cod and pork belly main couses were perfect. We sat outside in the small garden area. Lovely atmosphere - busy but intimate. Overall highly recomended.
Delicious Sunday roast with several options. Price reasonably with good service, comfortable seating and large tables oak tables. I will be coming back again.
Good atmosphere and good range of beer. G&T skills are excellent. I know there is food but we were only there for drinks. Great pub and staff.
Went here for company xmas meal and the food was FANTASTIC!!! Lovely private room which was just the right size. Service was amazing. Staff very friendly. Will go here again on my own very soon. Highly recomnended
Came here for a family dinner with the in-laws. Mother in-law forgot how lovely a carrot and coriander soup could be and the father in-law said the scotch egg starter was the best starter he had ever had. The rest of the night was just as successful.
