Had a lovely meal with friends, the food & the atmosphere was great . Loved the sadle bar stools ! Could have sat at the bar all night ! Lol . We was well looked after by our waitress, we never felt rushed which was lovely . Definitely recommend it x
We were visiting friends who live in tonbridge wells, we stayed at Smith and western for two nights, great food, great accommodation, great themed pub staff were alll polity helpful and friendly, I was interested in the history of the old building it’s self and the manager was very knowledgeable about this, I would recommend eating, drinking and staying at this venue

Came here last night with my man as a joint birthday meal for us both and it was the best food iv teasted in tunbridge wells the staff were lovely too will definitely be coming back thank you for making it such a lovely evening xx

We visited today as we had to have a change of venue for my daughter's birthday lunch. So pleased we did as we all had a great time and the food was well presented and the portions were very generous. Jody our waitress was really efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, she even recommended the Birthday Buster option which was an added bonus especially as it was all last minute! Will definitely be coming again!!
Our room was lovely!! The breakfast and dinner was great as usual!! This is my favourite restaurant when we come to tunbridge wells. Always friendly and helpful staff especially Jodie!

Brilliant themed hotel/bar/restaurant! From the moment you get out of your car and country&western music greets you to the Indian themed rooms this place is great fun. Food on offer was varied and excellent, all serviced by enthusiastic, friendly staff. Very reasonably price rooms which included a full breakfast of your choice. If you love the old west (or not!) and fancy a fun weekend give this place a try! Whip cracking fun to be had
I was in desperate need of a simple cup of tea. There was nowhere in the immediate area that was able to give me a cup of tea to take away, except for here. The service was fantastic, and the tea was tasty and reasonably priced. One day I'll be back for food.
Great value of money! Food comes in a huge portion and they taste nice.
I love the decorations! They give me the western vibe.
We ordered a Caesar salad, a 'feast' and nachos.
They also gave us some sweets after we payed the bill.
Fun place didn’t eat dinner only breakfast the morning after staying over. One of most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in away from home the linen was crisp white cotton. My husband’s breakfast wasn’t great he had the full English and it was cold and like mine the poached eggs were hard but the rest of mine was good I had the avocado on toast Have booked again for a stop over on the way down to old town Hastings in October Ans looking forward to walking round the pantiles etc
Fantastic family restaurant is great for birthday 🥳 parties. Great food. Great staff. They care about their diners asking on several occasions if everything was okay. And not just by one member of staff more than one member asked. Also, members of staff asked if we needed any more drinks on several occasions too. I would say we were looked after excellently. And Smith & Western should be very proud of their staff.
Brilliant place to come for food/drinks the food itself was outstanding and the service from the staff was superb..also as it was my birthday so they sang me a song it was good 😂can’t fault anything would visit more if was closer to home but when I’m down this way will definitely be back
Easy to park and a lovely themed restaurant. The prices are kinda high but the surroundings, service and quality of food was excellent. My 9 year old son loved every second of being there... especially the saddle seats. This was our first visit but we are looking forward to returning soon.
Such a well appointed hotel. We stayed in Cree which is above the restaurant, so quite noisy up until 11pm with the music.
The room is decorated to a high standard, with a super comfy bed.
Nice bonus of a discount off your meal when staying in the hotel.
The breakfast is most excellent.

Really impressed with the food tonight. Mac and cheese was mouthwatering! the steak was 10/10. Customer service was 5* and the rest of the food was beautiful. They really catered for my 11 month old and the kids menu is amazing! Good quality for the money and you get bottomless drinks and dessert included with the main for the kids menu!! Really happy! Thank you for making the visit such a positive one!
We had an amazing time this evening.
We ordered 2 Mac n cheese's with chicken and sat outside listening to the Western music they had playing. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, very courteous and always managed to smile as we passed them while exploring this absolute treasure of a restaurant.
It was like walking into a fancy western saloon, really authentic. Loved every second being here and will definitely return.
If I could give you 10 stars, I would. You people are absolutely fantastic and your restaurant is just beyond amazing.
Never seen anything quite like it, I am very impressed. Blown away even.

Came in for a late lunch with friend, we were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server was attentive and pleasant, food all came in good time and was delicious. Our drinks were regularly refilled and we were fully delighted with the experience and plan to return with our families for a group meal.

I have actually been looking forward to this review; the venue, a Victorian station building is super cool and with those over engineered walls very quiet. I booked it as it was available, a little sceptical about a themed hotel but absolutely won over. It's just fun. A few people had brats they loved it, we are both in our 40's we loved it and there were even a few coffin Dodgers and they loved it- it's a big space so you can surround yourself with what vibe you want. The staff are fantastic @Leah, I have managed two restaurants and you are exactly what everyone needs as an employee. Reliable, professional, and knowledgeable of everything in the venue. I don't want to leave out the others and your kitchen staff are spot on. The food was way above expectations, quality, taste and size. You don't leave hungry here, but you also don't leave bloated, it's exactly what you want. We will be coming back and my housemate is gonna take his gf to. The breakfast is served until 12:00 which was a first for us and brilliant. No rushing in the mornings, who wants to rush on a holiday? Miserable people that's who and there are none of those here. Book, go, enjoy, relax and have fun.

Chose this place as let down elsewhere. They accommodated 10 people. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food and drinks very good and service rom Dan, couldn't fault.
If any downside, music was too noisy for me but I was not well on the day so less tolerant. Toilets clean which goes a long way to the whole premises cleanliness.

Now that my mother’s house has been sold, staying there is no longer an option when visiting her in the residential home she’s now in. I therefore had to look for a B&B in Tunbridge Wells other than Travelodge - what a nightmare that was.
I had seen Smith and Western when I went shopping at Sainsbury’s and thought I would give it a go. It was the best decision I made!!!
Upon arrival I parked in their private, free car park and then received a warm welcome from Dan who booked me in and showed me to my room - very courteous, very helpful and attentive throughout my whole stay!
The room was AMAZING; great themed decor with a wonderful shower room en-suite. In the room was a Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, tea and chocolate pods. There is free WiFi - a definite bonus these days. In the shower room there are wash and shower products provided - the towels are changed each day if used. In the wardrobe was an iron and ironing board and in one of the drawers was a hair dryer - all essential mod-cons!!! There was also a very comfortable chair and foot stool for chilling out in.
Even though there was music playing downstairs in the bar and restaurant, the rooms upstairs are pretty much soundproofed and getting to sleep on the first night in a very comfortable bed was no problem at all. I’m 6’ 2” and fitted the bead easily!!!
The breakfast choice - themed again - is HUGE and if you want to go the whole hog you could have a meal that would last you all day - pancakes, cooked breakfast and even, I believe, steak! I chose just scrambled egg with crispy bacon on toast with some coffee…..beautifully cooked… and served by Dan 😊.
I had a 3 night stay at S&W; I got 3 great night’s sleep and 3 excellent breakfasts.
I’ll be visiting my Mum every 3 - 4 weeks travelling up from Devon and can guarantee I will be going to S&W EVERY time.
