An excellent cake shop/cafe on The Pantiles. The selection of cakes changes regularly but they're always fresh and delicious. They have a wide array of drinks to complement the cakes, with some particularly good loose-leaf tea. We also had a sausage roll, which was fantastic!
The staff are always very helpful, attentive and just generally welcoming. I think the prices are fair, given the quality and location.
Tea for two with two delicious cakes, on a sunny afternoon in the Pantiles - fantastic. Loose leaf tea in a proper china tea pot with the capacity for about 6 cups of tea, not a couple of silly small pots like most cafés provide. There was a very good choice of cakes, we tried a slice of chocolate, hazelnut and pear and a slice of sticky ginger loaf, the latter arrived with a wedge of lime. At about £5 a slice, not a cheap experience, but lovely cakes. Service was friendly and helpful.
I visited the cake shed today and had the most amazing experience! I ordered the luxury hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, the French press and lemon drizzle cake! It was all the most incredible food I’ve had in a long time, the hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely going to recommend to ALL my friends😊
Great cake and a variety of beverages. Tables to sit outside. Helpful staff.
Very friendly. Good decor. Tasty menu. Great
coffee & loose tea. Craft beers. Tasty cakes.
Sunny outside seating. Easy access. Toilets
downstairs.
The cakes were ultra fresh and not too sweet which we love! Good coffee too.
Mid afternoon snack post a walk around the Pantiles.
The sun was shining, the terraces full of happy people drinking and enjoying company again. Pooches also suffering from not having socialised with their own kind for a year were barking happy territorial barks to each other. Children ran around care free enjoying the arrival of summer, or is it still spring?
We were fortunate to find a table indoors which was quickly replaced with one in the sun by our lovely waiter. We enjoyed a "prawn star" and "cheese, shoots and leaves" sandwiches. The bread was gorgeously soft, pillow like seeded slices and contained generous portions of fillings. We enjoyed an Americano and G&T both at reasonable prices. We couldn't fit cake in for fear or ruining dinner (see Lago entry) but we will definitely be back on Day 2 for a slice or 2 of in house baked goods!
Best cappuccino I've has in a long time
I love the Cakeshed but today was not my best experience. There was no room inside mainly due to people working on their laptops even after they have finished their coffee.
I suggest the staff ask customers if they have finished and if they have give them the bill.
Several customers left as there wasn't room inside.
I always leave the CakeShed with a smile. These pictures are of the relaxed basement-seating area, pictures of the ground floor area to follow.
My friend and I visited this charming little cake shop in the Pantiles and were served by the lovely Kate.
It's a busy little place, but the food is lovely as is the atmosphere.
Definately recommend it.
Original and tasty vegan sandwich! And friendly and attentive staff, too (thank you for washing my baby's teether)
Always a great place to stop. Fabulous cakes, not over expensive and most importantly, great customer service.
Take away service and good social distancing, 2 people allowed in the cafe at a time. I had a soup which was lovely and have tried a few of the cakes before. Staff are lovely and friendly and making the best of the difficult situation we are all facing.
Highly Recommend and to help small independent shops in the community.
Absolutely delicious dark hot chocolate in the early spring sunshine today: loved it!
What a find. Delicious food and truly scrumptious cakes. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would very much recommend.
