The ambiance and service is first rate from the moment you walk through the door. The cocktails are superb and my half of a Cote De Boeuf was excellent.

We had a family supper here on a Monday night last month, there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the food was extremely good and the decor is very impressive. I will definitely be returning again.

Coco Retro is a charming French restaurant located in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a cozy dining room and a friendly staff. The menu features classic French dishes, all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Coco Retro with my family. We started our meal with an assortment of appetizers, including escargot baked under a garlic butter. While this escargot was far from the best I have ever had, it was cooked well and the garlic was not too overpowering, overall coming in above average but not awesome. The same can be said for the other appetizers we tried. The main courses however were a different story! I tried the lamb shank and it is a must-try! The shank is slow-cooked in a rich red wine sauce until it is fall-apart tender. The meat is so tender that it can be easily cut with a fork. The sauce is flavorful and the mashed potatoes are a perfect pairing for the shank and sauce. The desserts continued to impress us after our main courses were over. I opted to try the classic puff pastry dessert and to my excitement it was executed extremely well. The puff pastry was flaky and light, and filled with a sweet custard and topped with fresh berries, altogether creating a great flavor profile. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Coco Retro. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend Coco Retro to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Great meal. Extremely tasty food, sensible filling portions, super service. Perhaps some bread without requesting it as the do across La Manche? Loss of star due to loud music forcing up the volume of conversation. But would definitely come again once I’ve improved my lip reading. Thanks

It's OK. Food was good enough. Good portions. My Marmite à poissons was a bit bland. The broth and monkfish could have been a bit more flavoursome. Had to add a bit more salt. Service was good and efficient.

Very busy and buzzy on a Saturday night. Had cocktails downstairs and dinner upstairs. All staff members efficient and friendly. Food uncomplicated and classic. We shared a starter of whitebait which was plenty for two, followed by lamb and duck, tiramisu and afrogato to finish, washed down with a perfectly adequate cab.sav. Noisy and friendly. You must book as there were no spare tables.

Disappointed with the lack of potato choice...French fries or nothing. The salad needed to be served in a separate bowl not on the plate with the main course. My beef stew was spoilt by being mixed with french dressing from the salad, which was not pleasant. Others enjoyed their escargots, but generally the meal was a bit underwhelming.

We arrived early to a warm welcome. Polite, unintrusive service and excellent food and drink. When we arrived it was just us, but it was busy when we left and the service and food was spot on throughout.

We were recommended this place by some friends and we were not disappointed. It was fully booked when I tried to make a reservation, so I messaged back and said if there were any cancellations, could they let me know. I had a call the next morning and got my booking. The food was great, the drinks were fantastic, the service was amazing. They have an extensive wine list and very knowledgeable staff. I can highly recommend Coco Retro.

Fabulous food, staff and atmosphere. Great value lunch and we weren't hurried out - wonderful meal and fabulous cocktails. The snails were amazing as was the schnizel and the panna cottage. My favourite place to eat out in Tunbridge Wells and I am looking forward to returning again soon.

Excellent restaurant. Holds more people than you'd think. The food was delicious, and the service was good despite being busy/under Covid restrictions.
