Thornley Woodlands Cafe - Rowlands Gill - Photo album

This is a fantastic place to visit, great walks, a woodland sculpture trail, dog friendly and cycle routes, has all bases covered. Well worth a visit.
Visited today with our dog and have to say, the staff were so lovely. It was busy but well organised and they let us know there would be a little wait for our food before we ordered as there had been a rush on which I appreciated. They provide complimentary dog treats and water and there are free a
Great visit if you want a day out go for a walk. Another place to go is the cafe, absolutely AMAZING definitely would recommend
Fabulous walks with great views. A lot of birds to tick off your list if you're a twitcher. A great little tea room within the visitor centre offering a good selection of treats to accompany a cuppa to finish off your day perfectly
Beautiful walk with amazing wood sculptures, sculpture walk OK for families but other parts of the walk are extremely hilly, views from the viaduct are outstanding
A total gem. Very reasonable and lovely food in the cafe, and some free trails for the kids to pick up to help them engage in the walks- spotting leaves, insects and animal prints. Great way to access some of the derwent walk.
A smashing place to spend a few minutes or a few hours. Brilliant sculptures along the short woodland trail and always lots of wildlife to see, if you have a little patience and can be quiet. It's good that there is a cafe there, but it could do with being spruced up a bit.
Very friendly visitor centre with good selection of food. Seats outside, dogs welcome. Limited parking. We probably only did a quarter of the walks on offer from this point. We did the river walk and sculpture trail for about 3 hours, good places along the river for children to get down and plodge.
Beautiful place. Excellent walking trail esp along a stream.highly recommended for a lovely picnic.
Really nice place for a walk or cycling. It is my new favourite trail.
