Lovely place to visit come rain or shine. We visit every 4 to 6 weeks and being Dog friendly is an added bonus…. Well recommended, staff lovely and super helpful, reasonably priced and some lovely products.
We love it here. Ride-on train, old house, fascinating old chapel, orangery tea room, great gift shop, delicatessen, miles of surrounding parkland in which to walk. Friendly helpful staff and volunteers. Well worth a day of anyone's time!
Lovely garden center with lots of variety and very knowledgeable, helpful staff. I purchased a bird bath and will be visiting again. Very reasonable prices.
Meeting friends for lunch in the cafe. Very busy my food took a long time to come. Small play area for children but not close to the larger tables so we had to take turns checking on them. Food was tasty and hot, typical garden centre. Lots to look at but we didn't stop as had small hands with us.
We love this place, always a pleasure to visit especially now there is a loyalty card. We always visit the farm shop, which can be a bit pricey but it is always fresh and good quality produce. Free parking, a cafe which I have been told the breakfasts are good. Toilets clean.
Lovely walk and excellent lunch. Brought some new plants as well.
We had a nice afternoon round the garden, and house, ended the afternoon with cake and coffee.😀
Visited the Light Railway which is an absolute gem. Open Wed and Saturdays. Great for children and adults of all ages.
Love going to Stansted. The quality and selection of produce, butchery and grocery is fabulous. We asked for a leg of mutton, and watched whilst the butcher butchered and trimmed it for us. The checkout assistant was friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience.
Great lovely food as always tasty and yummy 😋
Went for daughters birthday treat as she asked
A great visit this afternoon searching out ideas for Christmas.
Inside all was very well presented with everything from seeds to doormats.
Outside a great selection of seasonal plants and a wide range of drag Christmas trees cut and potted.
Back inside and a good selection of gift foods, cards and wrapping.
On into the Christmas area and a really well laid out range of decorations from the standard to the quirky. Good lights too.
Outside we ventured into the farm shop. A large barn housed a selection of vegetables, eggs, meats and cheeses as well as lots of preserves and bread mixes. Not too busy and pleasant staff, an interesting place to visit for garden and Christmas ideas.
With the farm shop and beautiful grounds, this place has everything you could need for a nice day out all in one place. We were shopping for some plants for our balcony (as novices!) Richard was super helpful and friendly, giving us guidance on everything we needed. Very happy customers!
Love this place- so many nice plants and gifts to buy, but on this occasion the lady who served at the till lost them the five stars because she was so miserable - not my fault if she was having a bad day! Saying that I would still recommend a visit
Well stocked garden centre with good quality plants and shrubs, reasonably priced. As with most garden centres it also offers greetings cards and gifts, sweets, cakes and deli type products such as pickles and biscuits for cheese, etc. It has a good pet section too. The lovely people on the desk always have a biscuit on hand for my dog. There's plenty of car parking space too.
Pretty standard, modern garden centre cafe, with decent coffee (with cream if requested!), tray bakes, cakes and meals (not tried). Only after I'd had my fill did I realise that it wasn't Stansted's own Pavilion Cafe! (yet to be tried). Best recce both first.
A lot packed into a good size area, family including dog friendly so everyone can enjoy. Lots to look at, buy and eat. There is also a good second hand books shop on sight with a good selection of fiction and non fiction books.
Lovely venue to meet friends and have a yummy lunch. The train ride was a great hit with our younger children. Lots to see in a lovely setting. Staff helpful in cafe and at train ride. Thankyou.
I really enjoyed visiting today. We went in the train for our little one (watch out! Train rides are cash only, and I had to travel 7 miles to the nearest cash point!)
The train ride was great fun, and we had a lovely tuna mayonnaise jacket potato with a cream tea in the garden centre. Also had a cream tea. Good quality cream and jam, though I have had better scones for the money. The surroundings are child and dog friendly, well thought out and pleasant to be in.
The garden centre itself is big, with a wide variety of interesting items which are decent quality. The variety of plants is excellent, and the centre provides endless inspiration for home gardens.
A little out of the way, but worth the trip.
