Myself and a few friends came to the pub following the launch of the new menu. It was a toss up between fisherman’s basket and the ultimate burger, I opted for the fisherman’s basket and it was delicious!! Although a friend had the burger and it’s safe to say I will be coming back to try one!! The only only issue was that I didn’t have enough room for dessert! A warm traditional pub with a friendly service

Just want to say a massive thank you to Kelly and gang at the Cross Keys, I used the function room to have my birthday party and Kelly put on the buffet for my party, so many people commented on how good the food was, even going as far as to say the best food they have had at a buffet. Thank you Kelly for putting on such a fab spread and for being so being so reasonably priced, we all had a fab evening and the DJ you recommended was absolutely fab too. 5 star service all round.

The steak was the best I have had in a long time! Well cooked and tender! Fisherman's basket also went down well and the burger could feed an army! Friendly environment with an open fire and a decent pint!

Sunday carvery the Cross Keys.Well, Where do I start! The service was brilliant, food was absolutely beautiful! There was nearly every single veg you could think of being served, the meat was so tender, just so much choice. The food and the plates were hot so food stayed hot.I really can't big it up enough. The cross keys is the place to go people, for an amazing Sunday roast, you will not be disappointed! ! Thanks again Stephen and the cross keys staff. The Ford family

First night of a long weekend in Rode looking after a couple of chocolate Labradors, we were able to sit and eat without the dogs being a problem. Me and my life like real ale and they had a couple of choices from Butcombe brewery, the ale was kept and served well. The menu was great and they helped my wife who is dairy free and marked down all of the items on the menu that were, or could be made, dairy free, great service! When our food came it was lovely, well presented and tasted awesome. They are actually booked out most days so we were lucky to get in, we tried to book for Sunday lunch which they managed to squeeze us in, so we are looking forward to going back for this. Highly recommended but try to book your table in advance by a few days at least so that you’re not disappointed.

Delicious food had the roast, very nice! And cooked perfectly, the atmosphere of the place was good, staff very friendly and accommodating, dessert was to die for!! Very cute pub cat in the garden (garden very nice!) Good amount of memorabilia/trinkets around the building nothing too in you face, didn't spend anytime in their hotel rooms. Booking was easy and fast did it on the website heard back a little later in the evening via text and email (I'd imagine when they opened) luckily I read up on the place before booking and it definitely does get busy so would recommend booking with good notice :)

We stayed within walking distance of The Cross Keys and ate here twice in 5 days. Really good food and excellent service. The menu seems to change weekly with a few standards, like fish and chips, hanging around. Cannot recommend high enough.

A wonderful find. It was very quiet when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime but still had a great atmosphere. The food and the service were top notch. Will definitely be going back again.

We had a lovely experience staying in the green room and excellent food with something for everyone. A big thankyou to the staff as we turned up a little late for ordering food, however they managed to feed 3 hungry travellers with some beautiful food. Thankyou we will be back.

Very friendly lads behind the bar who fetched the landlady who checked me in smoothly and efficiently. Rooms was lovely and well laid out with a coffee pod machine, kettle and fresh milk etc. The bathroom was excellent with a rainfall shower head and the bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't eat in the pub, but, the food looked delicious. I just had a few beers and chatted to the friendly staff and customers. Thoroughly recommended.

Exceptional. One night stay arriving after dark but a warm welcome from the young lady at the bar and although not sampled on this one night visit, it's clearly a beautiful old inn. Room warm, very well decorated and very comfortable. Seems a very good base for a Somerset visit. Gorgeous little village too in beautiful countryside.

We had a lovely time at this pub. It’s got a nice local feel to it but with a few modern twists. The staff were helpful and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Apart from the usual pub grub menu there are a few pleasant surprises - I had the tuna and it was delicious. Good local ales were a bonus.
