Great place for a relaxed breakfast. Some quirks and not the normal sit down and order type place. You have to do some of the work yourself and expect a short wait for your order at busy times but worth the wait. Some of the best crispy bacon I have had outside the USA and generous portions (8 slices in a bacon sandwich). We loved this place and went three times in the week we were staying in Lyme Regis for breakfast (also went to the similar and I think associated town Mill Bakery for breakfast on another day). Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
We have been visiting the bakery on our hols, for the last 5 years. It never fails to impress.

Fabulous bread - all of the food is brilliant - lovely coffee, great ambiance, including the quirkiness and music, and great to have the provenance of all the ingredients explained on the info cards.

The usual quirky experience......great coffee and a limited but scrummy menu. Make sure to buy a sourdough loaf before you leave.....makes the best toast EVER.

Just popped in for a sneaky breakfast as I drive past this place regularly. I do know it has recently changed hands, so I thought I'd check it out. What a find. I had the bacon and sausage bap, orange juice and coffee. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. Staff were very friendly too. Bang goes my diet, I will definitely go back.
Great hidden spot! We always go for breakfast when staying at the campsite next door and never disappoints! Make sure your hungry when you go as portions are great and so rich and full of flavour. Everything is cooked fresh by Clive to order and great watching him cook your breakfast in front of you.
What a wonderful little place for delicious quality homemade bakery foods. It's nice to see the open kitchen and the owner Clive prepare the orders right there. You've got well selected music blasting, only the good stuff (hand made music). Staff is very friendly and helpful. French Toast and waffles are the most amazing ones that I had so far. Get yourself over there to get amazed.
First time back (x 2 in a day) after fire 🔥 rebuild and COVID Lockdown. In the morning wonderful coffee, returning the same evening for take-away BBQ rib boxes (with baked potato, baked beans, coleslaw and corn on the cob) …. Absolutely stunning, strongly recommend… rock up early circa 4:30pm 👍
Absolutely wonderful place the owners are loverly people,friendly staff good quality food and drinks, and they catered for my gluten intolerances, they have their fabulous clothing and home interior shop at the side I highly recommend definitely worth a visit i will be returning 😀 xxx
Such a unique experience. Family run bakery/cafe. The food was awesome and the staff was friendly. But come on for the loaf of bread at £5 is a bit of a push.

Our favourite place for breakfast or lunch. I think we have tried nearly everything now and its all amazing. Love the vibe of the place, the friendly staff and Clive. So lucky to live a couple of minutes away and every time we have visitors they demand to go back here.

Oh. My. God.
We almost didn't stop when driving by this discrete restaurant in the little village. We are SO glad we did. My partner and I are no stranger to good cooking, whether from Tasting Menus, Hog Roasts, or places like Temper.
But the Beef Short Rib (brined, sous vide'd, then finished on a hot wood fire), Wedges, Coffee, and knives and forks were truly an emotional experience for us. The beef so delicate and tender, but with the taste of a wood fire. The wedges a bit crunchy, but perfectly seasoned. A salad full of nature! Dill, rocket, lettuce, topped with a beautiful sauce. GOOD black coffee served in hand-made cups and saucers, and knives and forks smithed at a local Blacksmiths.
Sitting outside made the experience even better.
I was truly sad when we had nothing but the bone left over, and I'm trying to find a reason to travel back to try the pork ribs or onglet, or just even more short ribs!
Do not hesitate - this is some of the best food we have ever eaten - the chef truly loves his work.

Awesome and friendly place. First time visit for me and the pastries and breakfasts are amazing and tasty. I got the cowboy breakfast and it was fantastic.
My family and I love this place and we ensure we visit every time we go to our caravan. Many people feel the same way too so A, it can get very busy and B, because of A, they can rapidly sell out! The Bakery is "Different" and that word is everywhere. From ordering the food, eating it, the music (Between loud and very loud.) and paying for it. Clive does things his way, if you don't like that, go somewhere else. (Definatly don't go if you wan't food "your way".) Harsh? Possibly but read his book and you'll understand. Most of the reviewers who have given negative comments appear to fall in the caragory of wanting to be waited on, spoilt and expecting the customer to be King. This is not the place for that type of customer. Clive is King, and has made The Bakery somewhere different. Many people have fallen in love with Clive and his vision for that very reason and come back time after time. With a new "grill" venture underway, I can't wait to get back there again.

A Lovelly little place. Everyone is very friendly. Quite an intimate experiance. Just don't go if you want a quick lunch. Overall food is very nice if a little on the expensive side. It is however nice to support local buisness.
