Lovely little cafe with possibly the best brownie I’ve ever had. Only thing that was disappointing was the vegan sausage roll lacked any “sausage” and was more like an onion roll. Would happily come back!
Lovely place to get some food, good quality and delicious 😋 not from the area but so glad we went in. Definitely recommend 🙌
Shane's Kitchen is a not-so-hidden gem at the heart of Rottingdean, and is *ABSOLUTELY* worth the stop if you're passing through town! 💞 The menu is extensive and offers a good deal of variety, the food is freshly made and provide a premium selection of flavours, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are some of the friendliest you'll meet!
If the Scottish chef is around, introduce yourself (if he doesn't first), because he is a genuine ray of sunshine on a cloudy day! ☀️ Not only can he great for conversation, but he has some solid tips on where to find the best food in Brighton and the surrounding towns!
I cannot recommend the café more highly, and it's earned every compliment you read here! DEFINITELY take the time to drop in and treat yourself when you're in the area!

Here are a few strong recommendations from my visit:
► The MEAT PIE is "one of the best in England" (a glowing review by my dad) and presented with an amazing selection of sides.
► The CAKES are delicious and very, very good (a glowing review by my mom, who enjoyed her breakfast very much).
► The BACON SANDWICH uses some of the best bacon around and was delicious!
An absolute gem! You’ll know it by the gorgeous cakes in the window! Come inside and you’ll be welcomed by the friendly owner Barry. At first we just came for the Bounty Coconut Brownie Cake, which was decadent! We were having such a great time chatting to Barry, that we had some sandwiches to stay longer 😃 Such a lovely experience and we hope to visit again next time we’re in Brighton!
I can't fault this lovely cafe... What an amazing selection of homemade cakes... Absolutely stunning.
I, however, had a big breakfast, one of the best, if not the best breakfast I've had, beautiful bacon, lovely sausages... Well cooked, well presented.
Just to add to the experience, the guy who was cooking (a Scottish guy) was genuinely funny.
I left with a full stomach and a smile on my face.
I honestly hope I can get back here.
Well done and thank you.
Very cute and beautiful ambiance. Cakes and sandwiches are delicious
I mean just look at the size of those brownies. This is one of those times where a picture paints a thousand words. Lovely little cafe, great staff, brilliant BLT and cakes to die for. Warning! Wear a loose waistband 😂
It's been a long time since we went and had a walk around rottingdean high street, we decided to call into Shane's kitchen for a cuppa and cream tea . " Oh my god " ended up having a English breakfast & I've got to say it's the best I've ever had second to none , it was amazing, Google need to introduce a 5*plus or 10* category because trust me 5* is not enough for this amazing place . The staff are so friendly & can't do enough for you & if you decide to have cake etc , look at the pictures words just aren't enough. Very well priced you truly get more than you pay for , so if you ever find yourself in rottingdean pop in trust me it will blow your mind 🙂 absolute class 👍👍date of review 8/5/22

Awesome spot in Rotingdean near Brighton if you’re biking along the coastal path.
The most charming café in the Brighton/Rottingdean area! All of the staff were very friendly, and the food was exactly what we needed after a long day of bike riding. The cakes are extremely delectable and the quality of the savory dishes matched! Highly recommended!
Excellent. Superb. Amazing service. Lovely food. Great ingredients and great service. Great place. Took a trip out of Brighton to discover Shane’s Kitchen. It’s worth the trip.
Great little venue on the high street in Rottingdean. Super atmosphere and lovely service.
Had lunch there and food was fantastic. Pollo cibatta, mocha and bananna salted carmel cake were amazing. Staff was a bit overwhelmed but friendly. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
Everybody was very satisfied with their meal. Everybody tried something different. All the food was good. The table service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We had walked from Brighton on the undercliff walk. The day was sunny and we enjoyed being together and our meals at Shane's kitchen.
The place was quaint and comfortable. A good place for a traditional menu. Thank you.
