Visited during the afternoon on the Kings Coronation 👑🇬🇧 I was thoroughly impressed with the community spirit clearly led by the manager/owner. Remarkable!

Upon arrival we were greeted with happy smiling staff members, when we ordered the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, the presentation, portion sizes and taste were all on point!
Once we were finished with our meals the staff cleared the table quite quickly.

First time visiting Ye Olde Black Horse in Rottingdean. I felt very welcomed by the manager who served us, whilst having some lovely chats with her. In addition to this, I found her staff to be very polite and friendly. I ordered beer battered cod and chips with tartare sauce… cooked to perfection,
We came today for a very large family lunch. Lovely pub. Great food. Were very impressed with the service, they timed all the food coming out together perfectly. The pub was also decorated gorgeously with Christmas lights. Would recommend
Update: A first visit since a change of ownership. Nice fresh decor, ale well kept but served with too much head for me. The staff were ok but for me, lacked something, possibly because there were only a few customers present that lunchtime.

We didn’t eat this time but after the change in management it took a few weeks to get the regular Wednesday Quiz back up and running. It’s now back with a great atmosphere making for a fun evening out. Long may it continue.
This is a small haven of tranquility and greenery in the heart of Rottingdean just behind the high street (who knew?).
