Went for the Christmas party night, beautiful decorations, very festive!! Good choice of food, decent portion size, good service, reasonably priced drinks, fab entertainment. My only slight complaint was the entertainment was very, very loud, Will take ear plugs next time! Staff were lovely, friendl
Visited during the afternoon on the Kings Coronation 👑🇬🇧 I was thoroughly impressed with the community spirit clearly led by the manager/owner. Remarkable! The venue was very well dressed for the occasion and I can imagine the same effort being made for other occasions. The food was very good, muc
Upon arrival we were greeted with happy smiling staff members, when we ordered the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, the presentation, portion sizes and taste were all on point! Once we were finished with our meals the staff cleared the table quite quickly. Would defi
I’ve lived locally my whole life and never have I ever visited this pub. What a regret for leaving it so long! I can honestly say, this is one of the nicest pubs I have ever been in. The food was delicious; I had the crab and crayfish salad - it was so good! They kindly made me a drink that isn’t on
What a jewel this place is, the food was next level, service was great and the effort put into the rear garden was clear to be seen. Will call again in the future. Dog friendly too.
This Restaurant has an amazing setting, the building is a 16th century building with very old features and tiny door ways, it gives this place an unbeatable charm and vibe. The garden is just stunning. I ordered the home made beef burger for my lunch, it was seasoned to perfection, with the nicest c
Me and my fella had our wedding reception here. Dec and John could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The decorations were astonishing! Dec also prepared a buffet fit for the queens we are, all our guests were very well fed. Was truly a wonderful night.
First time visiting Ye Olde Black Horse in Rottingdean. I felt very welcomed by the manager who served us, whilst having some lovely chats with her. In addition to this, I found her staff to be very polite and friendly. I ordered beer battered cod and chips with tartare sauce… cooked to perfection,
We came today for a very large family lunch. Lovely pub. Great food. Were very impressed with the service, they timed all the food coming out together perfectly. The pub was also decorated gorgeously with Christmas lights. Would recommend
Update: A first visit since a change of ownership. Nice fresh decor, ale well kept but served with too much head for me. The staff were ok but for me, lacked something, possibly because there were only a few customers present that lunchtime. This pub can get totally rammed some nights but it's diffe
Lived here since July and first visit xmas eve: why did we leave it so long? Great atmosphere and excellent service - a really charming team of very capable people went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Food served quickly - we all thought it excellent. And special mention for the very well-
My partner and I came here for a weekend away. We had a three course meal and we hired the accommodation at the back of the pub too. When they opened the door I was just blown away by how stunning it was, it's done to a very high standard, everything about this trip was just faultless. The food was

We didn’t eat this time but after the change in management it took a few weeks to get the regular Wednesday Quiz back up and running. It’s now back with a great atmosphere making for a fun evening out. Long may it continue.
This is a small haven of tranquility and greenery in the heart of Rottingdean just behind the high street (who knew?). Beautiful outdoor seating area catering well for pandemic times. Great food too.
Had this place recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic food and great service. Definitely worth the detour when visiting Brighton
