The food at the Falcon was excellent. My starter of salmon, crab and crispy poached egg was incredibly tasty. the staff could not have been friendlier and the restaurant was very cozy. They have theme nights during the week so worth checking out. I will certainly be going back again.
The Falcon hosted my surprise 70th birthday party yesterday 20th August 2017 and they were wonderful.
There were at least 40 of us and both the food and service were faultless. Loads of extremely high quality, well cooked food and extra portions where required.
As there were small children attending and the weather was kind the garden was well used and just perfect. In fact the whole afternoon was just perfect and I can't praise the willing staff and very busy chef enough.

My husband and I were getting married in Rotherwick earlier this year and we contacted The Falcon with regards to catering for us on the day, which they agreed to do. I am so thankful they did!
We met with Lee and agreed that they would do all of the food for the day (canapes, main meals, puddings, evening food) serve welcome drinks and also man a bar for us as well. Lee gave us some really good advice for the day and was very helpful in the run up to the day.
The food on the day was incredible, we have had so many comments from guests regarding how fantastic the food was - I honestly cannot praise Lee and the chefs enough. The staff on the day who served drinks and food and manned the bar in the evening were great. Lee, Kristine and the team truly made the day run so smoothly, prepared incredible food and all went above and beyond our expectations!
Visited on burger night, fab choice and ate every bite (I had the pork burger with blue cheese and caramelised onions) and apple and cinnamon crumble - delicious! Very helpful friendly staff too.
My favourite ! Pretty pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Loving the fireplace in winter and the garden on sunny days too ! �

My only criticism is that I had ham egg and chips and would much rather have had freshly fried egg, than a deep fried boiled egg.

Well-presented and thoughtful small menu which comprises a typical ‘pub grub’ selection (ham, egg & chips, fish & chips, burger) but with gastro twist. Quick service and lovely bar staff. Good selection of gin drinks and wines, ales etc. Dog friendly too!
Really is the best pub in the area, having been to most of them now. Simply the best roast and the food quality generally easily beats the other chain pubs. Owners/staff seem to really care, consistently good service. Could maybe do with a lick of paint at the front (if being hyper critical!?) Dog friendly, good gluten free options, kids area at the back of garden, comedy/jazz nights and reasonable prices considering inflation, just top draw.

Not our first visit, but this time around had a very tasty Venison Lasagna, with chunky chips (for a bit of added carbohydrate..!!) Washes down with a nice Cornish Guest Ale. Also has lovely seating area in front of a real fire, good parking and certainly different gents toilet.
This pub is the most underrated pub I’ve been to. Eaten here three times now and the food has always been fantastic. The fish platter I had tonight was the best I’ve sampled in many pubs in the last few years, in Somerset, the Cotswolds and Cornwall. I’m not talking Michelin star, you can shove that, I’m talking good honest grub served by good honest people in a setting that is the perfect blend of traditional and contemporary. They have an excellent selection of beverages, something for everyone, including an inspired selection of wines that is not extensive but is perfectly balanced and offers something different to the normal bland choices. People of Basingstoke.....do yourselves a favour get a taxi and pay a visit to this little gem on your doorstep..

Ate early on a very hot Friday evening! Fish from the specials board was delicious and served with a good selection of vegetables and a sauce. Staff were all welcoming, polite and helpful. We appreciated the Landlord's email to confirm our booking - thank you.
The Falcon catered for our wedding at the village hall. We had the best day and The Falcon played a big part in that. They gave us lots of options to choose from, the food tasted delicious and it all went really smoothly on the day. The team were great and we look forward to returning to the pub lots in the future. Fantastic food from an F1 chef! However, what was even better was the hospitality. My girlfriend left her phone at the golf club and the landlord asked the chef to drive us to pick it up. Then, when we couldn't get find a taxi to take us back to the hotel, the chef came to our rescue again.
We had a wonderful time and will be returning

We had our gender reveal party here garden in enclosed and perfect for kids! We hired a bouncy castle for the garden which was great.
The Falcon provided a buffet at such a reasonable cost which everyone loved! Even catered for my friend who is gluten intolerant.

Just visited Hampshire Over the weekend. Decided to have some pub lunch whilst in the area. Service was efficient and friendly. The food really blew me away. I had the Chicken Schnitzel with a chorizo jam, steamed spinach and a sunny side up free range egg. My partner had the posh fish finger butty with hand cut chunky chips.
Definitely will come back if I’m around the area!!!

Visited on a Friday evening- busy and great atmosphere. Told it was busier than usual for a comedy night (started after we left). Good drinks, friendly and helpful staff. Food looked good (didn't eat there). Dog friendly which is always nice. Historic building. Good parking and garden for kids/summer etc. Great pub to stop in after a country walk.
