Awesome pub with awesome staff that always go the extra mile. Took our parents for a drink and meal yesterday as we have just moved to the village , they brought their dog and the staff couldn't do enough, brought her water and biscuits - very lovely touch . The food and service are outstanding - can't wait to go back - It's our favourite! :) X
Amazing place for Sunday Lunch. Been today with friends. Prawn and scollop starter was delicious. Went for the roast beef dinner which was presented beautifully with roast potatoes and roast parsnips and a great selection of vegetables.
Dessert menu was spoilt for choice such an extensive choice. went for the cheeseboard again presented beautifully. delicious crackers
Very busy place.and you can see why food was first class for a busy pub. service a little slow but you can excuse that when the food is worth waiting for. Thanks.
My daughters booked a table for my Fathers Day lunch and everything from start to finish was impeccable. Great choice on the three course set menu. Good wine/drinks list. Fantastic service (attentive & efficient). Food was well presented and of a high quality..... So overall a fantastic experience. Well done to Management & Staff for making our special day perfect!
Really good service and the food was excellent. It's been a while since we have been there as standards were poor but I have to say things have definitely changed. I would definitely recommend. Thanks guys and girls for a lovely evening.
Lovely food from extensive menu served by very nice staff. We celebrated my friend 50th and were made to feel very welcome. The trio of toffee is to die for.....
Revisited the golden ball. Had a lovely welcome and was seated to a candle lit table, the staff was very humble and professional especially the young lady that first served us. We left feeling fantastic. Also the new waitress that we talked to tonight was great and very professional. Thank you guys xx

We had a fabulous meal for 5 last night. The best pub meal I can remember. I had fish and chips. The fish was huge. The chips crispy. Mushy peas and tartar sauce finished it off nicely. My friends had a salad, curry, pie and pizza. Everyone was very happy with the food and the service from Louise & Bev.
Very tasty well prepared and presented food, good choice on the menu, have registered on the Vintage Inns rewards club , great introductory offer. Excellent service in well maintained surroundings. Will be going again soon. Plenty of parking in dedicated car park, always been a good feature of this pub over the 40 years or so I have been using it.

We were served by Tasha and Amy. We did have to wait a little while to be served at the start(although we were spoken to straight away and was given an apology) but once served it was fantastic service, very attentive, I also want to say how well I felt Tasha did dealing with some potentially difficult customers. The food was outstanding chef mason and Emma did a wonderful job. Was a great treat for my birthday.
Had a lovely meal last night. Service was good and the waitress was well informed of dietary requirements and good choices. Enjoyed a complimentary cocktail via the The Vintage Inns app. Very nice indeed🍹. The food was really tasty and will be going again very soon. Very relaxed cosy atmosphere too.
A fantastic menu in a wonderfully traditional pub. Oak beams, lovely decor, great beers, plenty of choice on the menu, and delicious food ... all served with a smile. The quiet country village of Whiston also provides the perfect backdrop. Loved it.
Absolutely love this pub 5 star customer service friendly and A class service all staff was very welcoming the food was outstanding delivered to a high standard. We was out for a family meal to celebrate my birthday and was made very welcome. The staff that was on was great and did great team work will definitely be returning again very soon 😃
Had a lovely family meal and was served by Holly and Mackenzie which were very helpful and friendly, great food and drink seating was comfortable, enjoyed my evening.

Nice Christmas feel to the place
As a work team we often pop to The Golden Ball for a celebration meal. The food is always spot on and even if we are a large group our meals all come out at once (sign of a great, organised kitchen!) Shout out to Bev & Louise for their great service.
This was my 1st visit, I can't believe I've been missing out on this for my whole life!
My friend had to send a steak sandwich back as it was chewy, but it was dealt with efficiently and without a fuss, she ordered a chicken burger and it was really good. We all had a good experience.
