Had a carvery today. Food quality not as good as on previous visits. Cauliflower cheese was lacking cheese and some of the roast potatoes tasted old. Carvery is probably better on a Sunday when there's a larger amount of people eating it. Takeaway cake was good though 😊
We had such an amazing time at this pub! The prices were very reasonable for the fantastic food and service. The carvery was a real highlight - beautiful fresh meat and lots of vegetables to choose from. The Rocky Road Sundae was the perfect sweet treat. Definitely would be returning very soon.
Really nice food, steaks are always cooked to perfection, the carvery is always nice and hot, and the large tikka masala is tasty. Always nice and clean inside and the atmosphere is great...lovely if it's a nice day and you can sit outside in the garden area :)
Service good. Table cleaned and ready for our group which numbered 12 for the time of our reservation. Food hot and tasty. Atmosphere was good not too noisy
Love The Winter Green! Emma is amazing! Her team are fantastic too. Nothing is too much trouble for her/them.
We had a gorgeous Christmas dinner there yesterday (we have been on Christmas Day before). My children even got a Christmas story book each which was a lovely surprise.
The Manager Emma came around to chat to everyone and wish us a Merry Christmas. She’s lovely every time we visit. The pub was so busy, (which shows what a success it is no doubt because of her!), but the staff kept smiling throughout!
My family and I really love it here. I’m back again on Saturday for lunch with a friend. I just wish that my local pub was this great!
A very positive experience from the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome by the lady at the door, and the barman opposite smiled and said hello too, we were taken to our table and asked if there were any food allergies to be aware of, I myself do have an allergy and was guided through the menu of things that I could and couldn't have, our table was cleaned and wiped again because of this reason which was really reassuring, we decided on a carvery and when I went up to queue a member of staff even came over just to double check that the chef was aware of my allergy again very reassuring, our meals were delicious.
We decided to have pudding ( there's always room for pudding ) our table was wiped again, and on both occasions while we were eating both meal and pudding a member of staff came to check if everything was OK.
We were also informed of new items on the menu, all in all a lovely evening and we will definitely be back.
Been a while since I last visited Winter Green, but pleasantly surprised there is now a Gluten free menu. I had the carvery, the servers knew what I could and could not have, very knowledgeable about the contents of the foods.
Very enjoyable, lovely place to dine, gets fairly busy. Staff are attentive and friendly.
Best carvery I have had, tasty roast veg, succulent beef, massive Yorkshire pud

Was recommended this place by a friend who has visited many times. We came for my birthday meal, just me, husband and daughter. Felt very welcome. All staff very friendly and efficient. Carvery was lovely as was my daughters meal. All reasonably priced too.

We visit the Winter Green regularly for food or just drinks and never have a bad experience! Staff are always welcoming and friendly, and will cater to all your needs. We've just had our daughters 10th birthday in there and Kylie who looked after our party of 14 was the perfect host. 🙂 Carvery is excellent too! Even when it gets really busy, Emma and the team still deliver an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.
