Went with the kids, great menu for kids especially the kids chicken dippers for a starter as that fed my 2 year old as a main. Katsu chicken curry was delicious and my eldest enjoyed the chicken combo with strips and wings.
Faye and the rest of the team very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!
Very nice staff. The food was as expected for a pub, all nice. The burgers and mixed grill are great š
Another lovely visit today treating my old dear to a nice meal for Motherās Day āŗļø
Greeted by Faye with her pretty smile & she helped my disabled mum to her table.
Food was top notch (we didnāt have carvery)
Although it was mega busy in the place we didnāt have to wait long for our meals.
All the staff was excellent & atmosphere was great š
We have eaten carveries at lots of different chain pubs and this is the best we have had. In particular the Yorkshires, roast potatoes and parsnips were really good, better than we have had elsewhere. It may be a 45 minute drive to get to Sir Jack, but we are coming again this week!
Been today for the first time - I had a large carvery (chose beef) the food tasted amazing and the beef was cooked to perfection, my husband had steak, chicken and cheese fondue - the steak was cooked as he liked, the chicken strips were tasty and would definitely come back! Would recommend this pub!.
Came monday night, staff were amazing, lovely and chatty couldn't do enough. Food was awesome plenty to choose from. Plenty of posters for sport and even signage for the car parking which is great.
Great friendly and fast service, comfortable pub/ restaurant atmosphere.
Sunday Carvery is top knoch with really quality selection of meats, vegetables and lovely onion gravy! I've knocked off one star on my food score just as I personally wish the vegetables where cooked a little longer but that's absolutely preference.
Really tasty meals.
I had the best scampi, chips and mushy peas and my husband really enjoyed his katsu curry. Very good value for money.
Enjoyed the whole experience. Staff were friendly.
My local pub, nice friendly staff, sports on TV, clean and welcoming atmosphere. Fair selection of beers and beer snacks. Plenty of parking. Despite being next to main road, pleasant spot for outside drinks on warmer days.
We have been a lot of times. Firstly, the car park is plenty big enough. Weekdays it's fairly quiet but the carvery is only on until 2.30 then reopens at 4.30 so don't come in the middle if you want carvery, we have forgot a few times. Weekends it's super busy, both in the restaurant and the play area.
It's good prices, not too bad for steak, fish and chips, gammon, lasagne - but veggie options there is a meat free burger, halloumi fries and bang bang cauliflower. Being a veggie and not having carvery can be pretty disappointing.
There is lots of drinks available, I'd say they're on the pricey side of things but everything is going up. There are kids drinks from squash or milk to slush. I will note, if ordering a slush bring your own metal or reusable straw as your straw will disintegrate.
There is a wacky warehouse. Its pretty small and not a lot to do in it, but I'd say if your kids like enclosed twirly slides and punch bags they will love it. There are 2 permanent Ball pools and a separate space for under 2s. I've included pictures of the 3 areas.
You can buy a monthly or 6 monthly pass for the wacky and visit many of them around South yorkshire. We have found a few better than here, but this is the closest so most convenient.
They do a tots club which include painting sticking and gluing, this is on during kids being at school, but great for preschoolers or homeschooling children.
There are pub tables in the wacky side, which honestly is great.
When we first got here, it was 1 oāclock on a Sunday no tables available, apart from in the bar which was okay for us because our guests wasnāt turning up till half past one with the children, we was advised that we could have our Sunday dinner in the wacky warehouse And I am so pleased we did. We was greeted by two great girls called Mel and Carrie Ann.
I explain to Mel that I had already got a tab going from the bar, so she was helpful enough to transfer it over to the wacky warehouse. This Great girl took my order for food and drinks, and even went and fetch my drink to us (save queueing).
Mel and Carrie Ann did not stop, smiling all the way through our time and interaction with us and everybody else you could see them both enjoying their job and was perfect in every way and nothing was too much trouble. These two girls need a big pat on the back for being very professional, courteous, polite and most of all trustworthy even with my grandchildren, total brilliant job by both of them cannot recommend this place enough and to top it off on the way out my grandson granddaughter and myself got stickers. Who doesnāt love a good sticker. Iāve got a squid š¦
Well done sir jack keep up the great work will definitely be back. Looking forward to our next visit. X
I've been here twice now and will visit again.
The staff were nice and friendly and felt comfortable even though I didn't have company.
Both times I've been it was busy enough yo have a good atmosphere but not overly busy.
The only negatives were though service was nice I did wait at the bar for a while when there was noone else to serve and the furnishing is worn but not aweful.
We have been tonight although we booked our table for 6.00 we arrived half any hour early.
We were welcomed in and shown to our table. We placed our order for six people told waiting time would be 20 min, our drinks were bought to our table xtraight away.
Food followed within 20 mins all food was excellent.
In all it was great food and service.
We will definitley go again.
Thanks again to all staff you made it a really pleasent evening.
Great carvery for my wife and daughter, I had the chicken and bacon salad with extra fries. Food was great, couple of hard carrots and un cuttable lettuce but the salad dressing was lovely.
