We've been here a good few times over the years, we've dined in and also taken away. One of the best chippys around. Always satisfied after every visit, highly recommended. Although a bit pricey it's definitely worth it.
Not been here for a while as had some bad experiences but on todays visit from the takeaway all I can say is that is was beautiful chips was cooked to perfection and the haddock was very nice the only down side is the haddock had to been the smallest iv ever had from a fish and chip takeaway but apart from that it was gorgeous

Had lunch there today cod chips and peas soft drink and coffee my companion had fish chips and a knicker bocker glory the fish was excellent the star of the meal but every thing was so delicious truly excellent the staff are really great too a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch went again with family for tea excellent food as always excellent service however when we went to pay a rather grumpy lady said I am coming to say we spent well over 50 pounds her attitude wasn't good for a change today decided to have a whitbys take away quite a pleasant day for it the staff in the takeaway were very nice nothing was too much trouble when my companion wanted cod with very little batter on wasn't a problem π and the fish chips and mushy peas were absolutely amazingly delicious π yum yum yummy yum π was in the area so thought I'd have a takeaway π had fish and Yorkshire fishcake as always delicious never disappointes which is good considering the price of food these days πpopped in restaurant today absolutely excellent fish π cod and chips and peas plus bread and butter pushed the boat out a bit with delicious knicker boker glorie yummy π got to be best fish fish and chips restaurant in Sheffield have to mention the amazing decor it as a distinctive seaside feel love the seaside picture s on the walls makes a distinctive atmosphere really love the vibe of it shows real imagination on behalf of the person who designed it excellent truly
Good choice of fish and chips and options with usual prices. Starters are really good, particularly the squid. Kids' menu portions are very generous for reasonable prices. There is ample parking outside and the ambience is also nice. The portions of dessert also heavy can't be finished by just one person.
Great cod and batter and chips, only issue was curry sauce otherwise would have been a 5*.

Nipped here for a trip out from the office for some lunch as it was "Fryday" after all. It was really busy but the service kept up nicely. My only minor critique is the drinks menu had no mention of hot beverages or sizes. So had to ask if they served capaccino which they do, but when it arrived it was cup sized which if I had known I would have asked for a large.
This was the first time coming here. It was fairly busy. However, even though we did not book, we did get a table after a little wait. I do get the impression it is advisable to book a table at peak times. The food was lovely. We both had fish (cod) and chips. The service was good. However, when my friend ordered a takeaway for her husband, when she got home, the fish had not been added to the order, although she paid for it.
My wife and I dined here 5 pm on 16 Jan 24. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered two fish suppers and the service was brilliant. As for the food..AMAZING! Good sized portions and great quality. Fully recommended.
Went in with my 87 year old dad who would eat fish n chips for breakfast, dinner and tea! We both had prawn cocktail to start with and it was awesome and massive! Dad had Plaice chips and mushy peas and I had the Haddock with the skin on...oh man it was the best! Been in here many times, staff are great and I just can't fault it. I must say that I've found many restaurants uncomfortable in their seating but Whitby's bespoke seating is the most comfortable I've ever sat in. 12 out of 10 guys..looking forward to my next visit! ππ
Had whitebait as starter and battered cod and chips for mains. I really enjoyed both. A lot! π
What also stood out for me was that the sides were also excellent. I tried gravy, curry sauce and mushy peas.
Also the service was impeccable. π

Big portions at reasonable prices served without delay. One portion of peas was missed from the order, but the generous supply of tartare sauce (no silly little sachets) more than made up for it. A little bit noisy, but then it's understandable because the place is so popular.
Went for lunch today with two friends: what a lovely time we had. We all had small haddock and chips, with some peas and tartare sauce. Pot of tea, a coke and some tap water. And one knickerbocker glory. The food was absolutely top notch and the service was amazing, given how busy it was. Thank you so much to all the team who worked so incredibly hard to make sure all their guests were happy. You did a wonderful job.

For a fish and chip shop /restaurant the food is delicious.
The prawn cocktail is scrumptious and the fish is in a batter so light that i could eat the whole lot where as i would normally take the fish out of the batter from my local chippy.
The service is very good and the waitress are very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is classy and well maintained.
