Good value and nearly very good food but silly mistakes spoiled the experience. The belly pork very dissapointingly didn't have crispy crackling and the leek & nettle cheese pudding came complete with a whole bay leaf! My vanilla & rasberry creme brulee came with two shortbread biscuits: unfortuunately one of these was BURNT on the bottom leaving a nasty aftertaste (see picture). Overall without the silly mistakes it would have been 5*, shame they let themselves down. If we lived nearby we'd give it another go...

Lovely welcoming cafe. We had gorgeous coffee’s and sandwiches and just loved it. The dog gave it a paws up too. Would return in the evening food all looked delicious.

Great meal at this lovely restaurant. The service was prompt, pleasant and informative and the menu options wide ranging using high quality local products. Crab and locally produced bread was a highlight along with superbly cooked pork belly and mackerel pate starter. Good range of wines and cocktails too. Would highly recommend this little gem.

Stopped here for a drink and snack after a walk by the river with our dogs. Chose this place because its dog friendly but actually decided to sit outside. The lady who served us (sorry I didn't ask her name) was lovely :) offered us a table inside but we were more than happy to sit outside. She wiped down our chairs and tables (it had been raining quite a bit) and took our order.. Victoria sponge and chocolate cake, both with fresh cream! They were both tasty and were devoured quickly!! I could hear music playing inside which sounded great.. just my cup of tea! Will definitely return and sample a meal. Fantastic place and lovely staff 👍🏻

Fantastic- We ate in this restaurant last year, I had the surf & turf from the specials menu, (Lobster & Steak) it was the best, so back again this year & table booked. Fabulous menu with great choice & price range. I mentioned to the waitress (Joanne) as we were paying about the surf & turf we had last year & how good it was, unfortunately not on menu. Joanne came back & said chef would try & sort something out if we wanted to come back later in the week, absolutely - table booked. Back tonight & had the surf & turf, what a feast, this restaurant is a hidden gem in the village. Thanks tonight to Joanne & Paddy, great service & nothing a hassle - Quality place.

A real little gem this (found on Google Maps!). Superb food at a very reasonable price. The slow cooked belly pork and home smoked salmon were highlights. Limited covers so would recommend booking in advance.

Absolute gem, best food we had this week. Stopped by for lunch whilst cycling, both had specials off the menu - so delicious and original that we booked for dinner a few days later.

Having walked the length of the main street we were a bit disappointed with what was available but then spotted Bewick's. Friendly and quick service, very nice coffee and scones. The food being served to others looked very good, so next time we will plan to have lunch there.

Wonderful place to eat in the heart of Rothbury. Fantastic village views and cosy atmosphere in the dining area. Owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable as are the waiting staff. Great selection of dishes and extra variety on the specials board. Wine and beer choices top notch alcohol free local beer options for designated drivers. Outdoor seating available which will be great for the summer months. Can’t wait to return.

Absolutely 1st class cuisine dining 🍽 at Bewicks this afternoon 👌 sat in the sun, chilling atmosphere 😎. The service and company of peters school mate, Kevin, and his sons, paddy & Johnny, what more can I say 🤔 great team of lads. Very passionate about the service 👏 the presentation of there cuisine served and ensuring your well looked after throughout your time spent in there restaurant, is simply 1st class 👌. Every meal was elegantly executed to perfection. Well worth a visit, you will certainly not be disappointed 😉 Can't wait to visit here again with my brother and his wife. Xx Thanks again Kev for making us very welcome, and for the company following you finishing your shift.

This place is a bit of a pearl which we disvo6on a driech Sunday morning when we were passing through on our way home from a few days away. We sat in with our dog. LP playing Ella Fitzgerald was an unexpected pleasure. Scones and coffee ordered. Wonderful friendly staff. We weren't getting on with the coffee so we expressed our concern and immediately received two replacements. Still not convinced despite the owner's son showing us the packaging and talking us through it. However what really impressed us was the specials board and the summer menu. There were some really delicious sounding and locally sourced seafood dishes which were tempting and a good selection of other meals on the menu. We have set our minds on a return visit to enjoy an evening here at a place that isn't run-of-the-mill.

We went for an impromptu family visit at the end of trip to Chillingham Castle and was probably one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had. Couldn’t fault anything already planning our next trip back!

We called in here for a coffee while on holiday in Rothbury. The coffee was great but the food menu looked even better. We booked in for dinner and the promise of the menu was delivered by the amazing food! We ate here every day...
