A absolutely cracking spot, with great food, served quickly and at a fair price. We called in twice last week , as we were so impressed. The soups are original, tasty and certainly home made. The mushroom soup was superb, and so different from the main stream stuff.

Superb little tea room. Small but good selection of hot foot. Drinks, hot and cold. Lovely tray bakes. Local produce to buy - jams, chutneys, sauces. Terrace around the back with overhead cover and great views down the valley.
What a beautiful little tea room! A really short walk from the national trust car park with plenty of outdoor seating (some under cover) overlooking fields of sheep and lambs. Nice little tea room & a place to buy basic provisions. It has a nice selection of ice cream, cakes & light lunches.
Try the Borrowdale Tea bread and take it outside to look down the valley towards Castle Crag. As Wainwright said, possibly the best 1 square mile on any ordinance survey map.
Stopped on a bike ride, had tuna mayo with a chocolate milkshake. Service was very quick, food was great and the garden out back is beautiful, plenty flowers and song birds. Will be using again.
