Honest, quality home cooked food and generous portions at very reasonable prices. A lovely oldyworldy pub. Friendly and efficient staff.
Popped in for a quick pint after a long day of walking. The atmosphere was nice and cosy, very welcoming, loads of local art work around the pub for sale too, which is a fantastic way of supporting local artists, very good prices on drinks, we didn't eat, but those who where all looked to be enjoying it, Vegan options available too. Will definitely be back here at some point
Popped in for a quick pint last Saturday afternoon whilst on holiday nearby. It was very busy but I got served quickly and had the best pint of mild I've ever had (as no Guinness on tap). In fact it was so good I ordered another ! Top pub.
Nice pub, good food and it’s also dog friendly. We will be going back there again soon.
Called in on the off chance on a Saturday afternoon . Had a delicious steak pie and my wife had baked potato with chilli and extra cheese. We both really enjoyed, and was very reasonably priced. Would eat there again.
Despite some bad reviews, we came in after a walk to Peel Monument, had a lovely cheese & onion pie, beer (and prices) were great and the atmosphere was lively. Knew we were amongst the locals but no dramas.

Received a very friendly welcome. They have an extensive and varied menu and reasonably priced. They have good choice in ales. All together a very pleasurable experience.
Really enjoyed our visit. The portion sizes are large and extremely reasonably priced. Will definitely go again. It has a proper traditional pub feel !
