Went in for a late lunch today. Very friendly welcome and seen to with drinks straight away. We had the fish and chips which were amazing and also breaded halloumi which again was fantastic. If you’ve never been here before I 100% recommend it. Will be back again soon!
What a treat it was today. We went for a cheeky lunch (my Hubby and I) to the wonderful Green Man.
We arrived at the pub at 15:40 and they were serving food, which was lovely. Good Start.
We ordered a crispy Halloumi and chips meal and I had a great choice of meals.
I’m gluten free and after asking, I was informed they could do a cod and chips with gluten free batter.
IT WAS LOVELY, I can highly recommend.
They have their gluten alternatives marked in green by the main meals. So many choices.
The food arrived quickly even though they were busy and it was service with a smile.
The gardens are beautiful, loads of flowers and so many butterflies, that kept landing on my shoulder.
Someone has been very busy.
We’ll certainly be back, thank you and we’ll done The Green Man
We went last night to celebrate my partners birthday - warm greetings - meals (feast!) where delicious, waitress was amazing and the whole experience & ambience of the restaurant was wonderful - thank you.
Highly recommend. A*****
Nice little pub in a nice little village. Really helpful staff at the time of booking, and they accommodated us around other bookings. We were sat in the bar area, but there are other areas. I was told that in the future, I could request to be seated elsewhere if they had availability. Phil (the manager?) was very professional, polite, friendly and helpful throughout. A large selection of different dishes available. I was there on a Sunday, so I had a lamb Sunday roast which was lovely. We will definitely be visiting again.
We were on a weekend break in Ropsley and had dinner at the Green Man. The choice was varied with a specials board as well as a menu. We had fish & chips which was excellent and there were great desserts too. The staff were lovely and spoke to a couple of regulars who were very nice. We were able to take our dog too which was really nice. Would recommend a visit to the Green Man I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Eaten here twice and both times the food was wonderful. Big portions, beautifully cooked and presented. Would recommend to anyone.
Absolutely amazing food and staff. Went here for an anniversary meal and the staff went above and beyond. I think the owner dealt with us most of the time and he just made us feel so welcome and gave recommendations on food and drink pairings.
Good range of freshly cooked food, good meat options, burgers, steaks and chilli dishes.
Reasonably priced options, with more expensive options if you want to choose.
Interesting decor with helpful staff.
Worked well with a large group of 8, meals timed and coordinated very well.
Went for burgerfest, (late valentines meal with my wife) I had the ostrich burger and it was beautiful, my wife stuck with what she knew and had the Ropsley burger. Wonderful food great price and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Lovely pub with a great outdoor space, friendly staff, great menu (with a good variety of gluten free options). We are not from Grantham but stopped for lunch here in August 2022 and it was delicious.
Nice place, but it was not as good as was anticipated.
Will patronise again later this year.
Very cute and fun pub - food was good, with enough gluten-free options to keep me happy. There wasn't a drinks menu and our server didn't seem 100 percent sure what was on offer, but we managed just fine. All the food came promptly, HUGE PORTIONS, delicious and able to accommodate special requests.
Food was fantastic. Great atmosphere!
Had a great meal for my daughters 16th birthday on Thursday night.
Always a firm family favourite and a good pint and great atmosphere.
Great service. Great staff. The food was good. Definitely lacking in the vegan and vegetarian offerings which would put us off visiting again as some people in the group had very limited choice.
Really nice food, had a superb ribeye with the usual accompaniments here earlier this evening. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Sat outside in the well turned out garden area, perfect on a warm Summer's evening. Gluten free visitors are catered for with plenty of options on all of the menus.
In the latter part of lockdown, my daughter had a takeout delivered for all of us and it was lovely.
So she booked us a table to go out, as a family, for a meal.
As it's dog friendly our grandfluffy came with 😁😁
Food was excellent. I believe hubster and I had braised sliced leg of lamb with gorgeous veggies and daughter, who'd been before with friends from the village, had sausage and mash again, in a massive Yorkshire pud. Sausages were fantastic the pud top too crispy to eat.
The atmosphere, cosy.
They had the fire going in the small room where we were.
The only downside, was the fire.
It had just got to a manageable heat as we ate, and instead of putting a semi damp log on and letting it gently burn.
They rammed it full like there was a raging blizzard outside 😮😮😂😂
The flames and heat roared.
My poor hubster, who was sat directly opposite it had sweat running from his brow.
We gave a massive sigh every time someone opened the outside door 😂😂😂😂
But for our first, family, meal out in nearly two years it was still lovely.
Madam Nala thought it was wonderful to go out and meet other like minded and friendly dogs, who just wanted to chill and see who would drop a nibble or three their way lol.
Recommend, with sweat and all 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
