Review Sun - Romsley

Pleasantly surprised, food was really tasty, and there was nothing the family didn't like, they have lots of choices of larger. Service was spot on, they had crayons on the table for the kids and checked in throughout the meal, we will definitely be returning, great value for money

The Sun has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Service was excellent & staff pleasant & helpful. Food & desserts were really well presented. Reasonable size car park

My wife recieved a tuna melt baguette with very little filling however, after showing one of the staff it was taken away and rectified. I had the mac and cheese which was really nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and, a good selection of beers. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely meal last night for a joint birthday with my family. We were a party of 8 sat at a great table. Staff were attentive and very friendly, we had 4 split bills which we know can be a pain but the staff got it spot on which was great. Food all came out hot and delicious, and all correct. Only one minor complaint which really isn’t a big deal but a few in our party got the hunters chicken and we found the portion to be a bit small, a few more chips needed and there was hardly any cheese so couldn’t really taste it. Not a big deal though that’s just preference I suppose. Two members of the party also ordered coffees after dinner and as it was late the coffee machines were already being cleaned but they still made them after already being cleaned which after working in the hospitality industry myself previously I know is a pain after you’ve already cleaned the machine down for the night. They could have easily told us a “story” as most places do that time of night about not being able to make coffee but they made it with no issue so again this was really appreciated. Overall really great night and we left happy with full bellies and the prices were very reasonable! We will all return and I would highly recommend!

Lovely little pub, stopped going years ago as went downhill but recently started going again and it's really nice. Staff are friendly, it's clean and a nice atmosphere. Ultimate burger was yummy 🤤 our waitress Rhea was really nice and helpful. Would recommend. Nice beer garden.

We ate at lunchtime, the pub was very busy but we were seated quickly and our order arrived in good time . The food was lovely, generous portions and well cooked. There were no surprises on the menu as we had eaten at other pubs in the chain, but the staff at the Sun are all pleasant and friendly. I would definitely recommend trying The Sun. We were served by April, who is a lovely lady.

I haven't been to the Sun pub for over 30 years since my mate was the landlord so I was looking forward to it Greeted by a nice guy who showed us to our table and we ordered our food and drinks and Nd enjoyed the traditional pub fayre Our table was booked from 7pm until 8.30pm which was fine but the only annoying thing was at 8.25pm literally 2 minutes after I had asked for the bill a male member of staff came over and told us to hurry up and vacate the table as someone had it booked which to be honest I thought was a bit rude Would still go again though

Quick stop off on a walk the Sun was on way back to our caravan. Lovely outside area and enjoyed a few drinks and a sticky toffee pudding.

Nice to see The Sun back open. It’s always been our favourite pub. Great location brilliant outside in the summer. We arrived at 2pm yesterday for my fathers 79th Birthday, was greeted and shown to our table, warm smiles as ever,Eve was our waitress who was very helpful charming and relaxed. We was asked if we wanted to order drinks while we read the menus. Menu looks great and lovely food. We ordered hunters chicken, ultimate burger which was amazing. The special Chicken burger with hash browns on it gorgeous. Also had a BBQ Chicken burger which was great as well. Portion of onion rings. All the mains were really delicious and tasty. We had Desserts all four of us had the rocky Road sundae which was very scrumptious. Over all great atmosphere friendly staff great food and drinks. So glad it’s back open.

Came here for a Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed.Service was good and although the pub was very busy it did not take long for our roast to arrive. The food was excellent in every way , presentation, quality, quantity and flavour. A first class Sunday roast.

The pub is clean, inviting and has friendly staff. I visited out of curiosity when I received a money-off voucher at home. This pub is a fair way from where I live if you won't drive if going for a drink. There is a poor bus service in that area, and taxis make visiting on a regular basis non cost-effective. In effect the place is an excellent venue in the wrong area for me.

We were staying in the area and chose to eat at The Sun. The staff were very pleasant and considering the place was packed, we didn't have to wait to long for our meals. The food was exceptionally good and nice and hot. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely pay them a visit again.

Went with Hubby, found the drinks to be a tad expensive, and the food was ok. However, the young lad who was serving was outstanding, with great people skills and a lovely smile to greet all. It's very rare to get staff like that. Keep up the good work, young man.

Lovely evening and atmosphere both inside and outside. Georgie went above and beyond to keep our large party of people happy and well looked after. Great food at very reasonable prices. Thank you.

This was out first visit. Very impressed. Lady's that dealt with us were so friendly and helpful. Drinks were expensive but expected that. Wait on food was 45 mins and was told before ordering which usually I would not be happy about this but considering it was bank hols and very sunny it was to be expected. Food was lovely and even better when it's 2 for 1. Only downside was the queue for drinks. It was constantly to the back doors. Luckily the manager that was dealing with us gave us great service that we never had to queue. Do say you need more staff. Sure some customers would not be happy about wait even taking to account the day and weather. And if I had to wait that long on a normal day I wouldn't be happy. Would recommend and return again

Went to The Sun for dinner last night. Greeted by the gaffa who was his normal arrogant self. Ordered drinks and food which arrived in good time. The service was very poor at no point were we asked our the meal was. Plates and glasses were left on some tables. There was a lot of young children in with parents this made it feel more like a wacky warehouse. Years ago The Sun was an upmarket pub with good service last night it felt like a council estate wacky warehouse.

While the sun was out we decided to bring the little one out so we could sit in the beer garden let him play while we had a drink and something to eat, we had a couple of drinks and decided to order food when my partner came back to me saying we couldnt order food because we were to "far down the beer garden to order food" yet tables past us where being brought out food!!! We have recommended lots of friends and family here over the years. We shall not be eating or drinking here again, the service is absolutly shocking... whats good for 1 is good for another! And we dont want your free vouchers. OFF TO McDONALDS FOR BETTER SERVICE

The most expensive orange juice and lemonade I’ve ever had!!! Stopped off here for a drink whilst cycling...ordered 2 pints of orange juice and lemonade and 2 packets of crisps. The bill was £10.20 which I thought was quite hefty but accepted it and paid. I had to prompt the lady for my crisps as she had only handed me my drinks, for her to say that she had forgot to put them through the till (not a problem). I responded with “you must have as the bill was £10.20” she explained that she hadn’t added the crisps and that price was just for the drinks!! Needless to say we went without them and just had our drinks. At the end of our cycle we stopped at another country pub and ordered a pint of Stella shandy, a lime and lemonade and 2 packets of crisps and the bill was £6.00....enough said!

Terrible service. Left standing to be shown to a table for a while even though there were three staff right by me. The girl who served me must have been new as she wasn’t really listening to me. Food was bland and tasteless. I had ordered a refill drink. So I when I asked for a refill I was told someone will be with me in a moment... no one did I was left with an empty glass, got fed up asked for service, paid bill and left. I have used a lot of the country pubs in the area and had heard good things about the Sun, sadly I very disappointed. My advice go to Shallows nest up the road far better service.
