A great place to investigate in the centre of Romsey. A wide range of contemporary arts and crafts are on show and for sale at affordable prices. The coffee and cake is also amazing and the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. While you are there, you may also like to sign up for one of their workshops and get involved in anything from: painting, pottery, jewellery, print-making, etc.
Found it today. Great gallery, light and airy, with a wide range of items and prices, suitable for all pockets. Very friendly staff. Bought a wonderful piece by Cath Broadway but didn't have time to try the cafe so will definitely have to book a return visit.
The current exhibition of paintings by Prince Charles and Queen Victoria are excellent and worth a visit and a purchase if you're not too late.
Perhaps, the best community arts cafe in the world , ever!
The tea and cake offer was great value and I was both relieved and pleased to see gluten-free cakes. Thanks!
Great atmosphere with interesting artworks and friendly staff
Thank you for a truly wonderful hen do. Everyone loved the lino printing, yummy lunch and cakes. The extra little details and kind thoughts like the decorations really made us feel welcome and made the day special. Can't wait to come back for more of the amazing lemon cake.
Lovely strong black coffee and lush roasted vegetable and pesto toasties, nice ambience too
Rum's Eg is a great place to see a variety of high quality work by local artists and craftsmen. I have purchased a number of things for myself and also as gifts, as well as greeting cards. I would not hesitate in recommending the cafe - lovely tea and coffee, lunches and cakes too! The Rum's Eg is a very welcoming gallery and an asset to Romsey.
food is brilliant and cakes are always the best :D
I thought it was great. Lovely things to buy and give
What a lovely little coffee shop. Coffee exactly how I like it…plus fabulous selection of homemade cakes…I had an almond jam slice thing that was mouth-wateringly good. 100% recommended.
Really lovely, independent cafe in Romsey ... Good drinks selection with very nice coffee and a delicious selection of cakes and pastries.
Goid value and nice staff.
Lovely little jewel in a sea of coffee houses populating Romsey high town. Tried four types of cake slices to ensure an equal field.. 😁 All lush. Millionaire slice in particular was great with a flat white. 👍 Well worth a visit if mooching around the town. 🍰☕🤙
Fabulous place to relax with delicious cake and coffee on a dreary Sunday. A bit of jazz in the background set the ambiance just perfectly.
No 5 is one of Romsey's little gems, it's tiny and popular so don't be disappointed if you can't get in. Open during the day as a cafe and then some evenings as a wine bar, I've only so far gone during the day.
I do get a little pit off my the condensation running down the windows in the winter when it's busy, I suppose I'm still a little wary about germs (my issue) obviously not much airflow.
My cake was just a little dry but my coffee was great, and let's face it I ate the cake so it wasn't that bad!
Staff are super friendly, cafe clean and warm with a view onto Bell Street.
Well worth a pop in and I'm definitely going to try the wine bar soon.
Delicious and fresh tasty cakes, really scrumptious 😋 great coffee too
Cute cafe in the centre of Romsey with lovely coffee, homemade cake, and great staff. Prices not overly steep (for Romsey!) and a warm decor makes this place a must for anybody looking for a nice coffee out.
First visit in a long time because of restrictions, great to be back, settled for iced coffee and cak, not disappoint, delicious. The coffee shop was clean and well laid out. Looking forward to our next visit.
Popped in for the first time today. Coffee and cake stop, will definitely visit again. Friendly staff, lovely cake (good sized piece too!) And nice atmosphere.
Friendly staff always willing to give the best service. Great atmosphere. Great coffee and tea with a large range of different types. Then there is this large choice of cakes and savoury snakes. Why use the big coffee chains when there is this brilliant family run Coffee Shop.
