A great place for a Sunday Roast! It was my first time in Romsey, and I didn't know where to have lunch. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this place, and the food was delicious, and the service was excellent and quick. We didn't have a booking, but they quickly set up a table for us. A cosy country pub right in the centre of Romsey. Tasty dishes well above the average pub food. Plenty of parking spaces on site as well as in the nearby public car park that is free to use after 4pm.

I didn't eat. The place was beautiful and relaxing. Traditional snug and comfortable. Wonderful experience and fantastic service. Would definitely go back and have a meal.

Mid week and late decision, 3 dogs in tow, cannot rate this place highly enough, service was lovely, the girls were welcoming, friendly and polite, the food was amazing, not cheap pub grub, but certainly worth the money, 2 main meals and 2 pints coke for £40, thanxu to the staff ❤️🥂

Lovely pub. It has managed to keep the rare balance of being a pub you can either just have a drink in or a place you can go and have a meal in. Food Lovely, beer great, lovely homely feel. We had Sunday roast! Great tasting food and nicely served. No scrappy bits of roast pork - proper (not cut on a machine) slices and tasty. Cracking crackling - tasty veg - all piping hot. Looking forward to visiting again. 👍👍

The young guy serving was very pleasant, however the young girl had a face on her like she really didn't want to be there. Such a shame, however the food was lovely, the young guy very nice but the young girl....off-putting.

We revisited The old house at home for the first time since February, and its lost none of its charm. We were very warmly welcomed on our arrival, shown to our table, we then ordered our drinks followed by our food. We were very impressed with our meals, and very nicely presented. As for the taste, absolutely mouthwatering. We travelled almost sixty miles for our lunch, and I can honestly say that it was worth it. May we pass on our thanks to the Governor and his staff for looking after us so well. From Ray, Rosemary, and our dog Susie. 30th November at midday.
