Been here twice, once for breakfast and once on Saturday night...the breakfast was really good and the portion size and taste was good...went there on Saturday night at 22:50 assuming the dj would play till midnight as per the board but he stopped playing at 23:00...the Dj was absolutely drunk and was continuously swearing until he packed up his gear...the dj did apologise for his behaviour but felt the bar staff shouldn't have allowed him to curse like this before customers...if the lady who owns the establishment was there at the time, I'm sure she wouldn't have let this happen...

We went for a quick family dinner, Chloe served us and Jess cooked our food. I ate here before but I think the kitchen set on fire, and the chicken I ordered wasn't seasoned jerk. I got the chicken platter, my son for the hit chicken burger(can't remember what is called). Their bbq sauce is amazing btw. We got brownie and make your own sundae for dessert.
They said they have a new manager now and the place seemed a bit more cared for. The staff were helpful and kind plus they spent about 5 mins trying to get the kids toy machine working for my little one who had her £1 to spend on the machine.
They don't have full day pepsi on tap but they do have bottled Pepsi which is cheaper than the full fat coke. It's alright in there, they need new decor and tables were proper sticky but the staff said they were fixing the place up so we will defo be back.. other customers were friendly and even gave my bubba another quid for the machine. The football came on but it was still a nice atmosphere. Didn't get rowdy.

Tried both the Breakfast & Daytime Menu (All together 9/10), the food is lovely, decent portion sizes for the most part & the price isn't too bad.
28/05/2023 - After trying the breakfast menu the other day thought I'd try the daytime menu, starters were a decent portion size for the price & tasted quite nice (Cool Original Nachos, Salt & Pepper Mushrooms & Onions Rings) also got Cheesy Garlic Bread but that was just okay... for the mains the Gammon Steak was 10/10, Fish & Chips 7/10 would easily be a 10 if it had more chips... the Hot Dog however 3/10 the size of it for the price is a big no, the microwave hot dogs you get for £2.49 in the shops are bigger & you get 2 of them, I will say the hot dog did taste very nice but can't justify spending nearly £10 on it... £7 or Under would be perfect... overall I'd give 7/10 I do think I prefer the breakfast menu.
26/05/2023 - Breakfast stuff was very nice & for a decent price for the portion size too, highly recommend Bacon and Maple Waffles & The Big Breakfast.
I always use this pub as a stop off when I wait for my dog to be groomed next door. I usually have a meal and soft drink. Food is lovely and reasonably priced. Staff are very welcoming, polite and helpful.
Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in staff are smiling and they greeted us on arrival, beer garden had the sun beaming on it which made the cold pint more enjoyable!!
Choice of food was good and also the prices. Place was clean. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Will be returning.
Really nice place to have a beer and a steak. I asked for my steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection, beautiful. Compliments to the chef. My mum was really happy with her jacket potatoe. The kids burgers were tasty and great value. Will be visiting again soon.

Been coming to the Tollgate for a few months now, the staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, a huge well done to all the staff there.. thank you for making me feel so welcomed when I've been in.

Come to the tollgate for a few drinks the atmosphere was amazing,the staff were so friendly and welcoming would recommend to anyone who wants a chilled evening
Had a fantastic double vegan burger with extra bacon! Top notch and the service was bang on
I had dinner with my daughters, my youngest has allergies and I even managed to talk to them about what food was allergy safe, Martin helped me pick out something that I knew would be safe to eat by providing us with a tablet to check on and Billy cooked us our meals. They tasted amazing and my daughter loved her food too, and she is a very fussy eater!
Plesent place to be and wonderful food and if your passing by or even just looking for something to quench your therst in this hot weather or fill that empty spot of hunger then pop in its worth it
Great pub, friendly atmosphere. Popped in mid afternoon for lunch with my friend, Great selection of cocktails and quick service on the food.
