Stopped by here for a late Monday lunch (3:30pm). What a pub! Honestly, from the outside we expected an average country pub, but inside surprised us in a good way. Place looks amazing. Food was delicious, we ordered Halloumi burgers and we both agreed they tasted great. Served by friendly staff. Goo
Booked for lunch after a mornings walk [31/10] and I have to say I was very impressed with the pub, staff and the lunch. Food was excellent [Sausage & Mash] with the sausages being super tasty. Washed down with a Harvey's Best, what more could you ask for. Overall, an excellent pub and great VFM - I
An absolute gem of a pub. Great food, attentive staff and dog friendly (dog sausage no problem!). Daisy and Chris are the perfect landlords super friendly and hospitable. I’ve been to quiet a few country pubs and this is head and shoulders above. Highly recommended. Just go and support them and see
We were very impressed big table for supper last night with four adults and two kids. The pub interior and garden are gorgeous, food was lovely big unpretentious delicious plates of magic cooked with heart and flair - service was great too slick and friendly (they missed a component i.e trick or two
We went here after a stroll on the downs and it met our expectations for lunch. We sat in the garden which is very well concealed from the roads. The portions are massive and has great food. I recommend the chips as they are very crunchy. 5 star pub tucked away in the downs. Brilliant
Four of us had a very nice lunch here on Monday 02/10. Service was very efficient and friendly, good pint of Harveys as well. We thought providing half portions of some of the menu was a good idea. Would recommend this pub and shall look forward to returning.
We were on a hike in the great October weather and popped in for one and ended up having three. Nice garden if the weather is good. Was busy as it was a Sunday lunchtime, didn't have food but it looked very nice.
Nice and comfortable restaurant.
The food is really delicious and the staff is friendly
Definitely we will repeat.
Lovely country pub. I've been here many times over the years. Meals were delicious and good value. I had a salmon and prawn Marie Rose platter with salad and bread. My friend had the beetroot and goats cheese dish. She's a gourmet and rated it highly.
Stopped here with our dog for food and drinks on our way back from camping. The staff were very welcoming and polite. I tried a pint of Guinness & a Dark Star, both of which were good.
To eat, I had the Rump Steak with Skinny Fries with salad and peppercorn sauce and it was all excellent. The steak
The waitress was very attentive and very knowledgeable about vegan options. A very welcoming place. The vegetable pie was amazing! I hope to go back one day. Thank you!
Lovely pub between Lewes and Newhaven. Good sized car park. Lots of outside seating in paved garden. Table service. Food and service is always very good. We had 5 bean chilli with rice and tortillas and the same with jacket potato and salad. Both under £9. Booking recommended as it's very popu

What a great pub. Came here for dinner a few weeks ago after staying in Sussex for the weekend and stopping on our way home. Good home cooked food, reasonable prices, clean and family friendly. The staff who served us were lovely and on top of everything. Would definitely come back.
Great country pub with good food. Beer garden. Plenty of dining space inside. Highly recommend the wood fired pizzas - good size and very tasty indeed! Good Sussex beers too.
