This is a lovely comfortable place for freshly cooked to order food which also offers gluten free which two of us required. The service is friendly and quick without being rushed.
We were taking family out for the evening, they enjoyed the food and we have already booked for valentines. They have a lovely menu and specials as well as an extensive wine list. Perfect evening!

Our family are a bit of a challenge; baby needs a high chair, husband in large electric wheelchair, three gluten free, one also dairy free!
Jack in the Green staff are always welcoming, knowledgable and kind.
Food is never short of wonderful ( I had the special loin of lamb on my birthday and it was delicious), it is fresh and beautifully cooked. Empty plates all round. Did I mention the chocolate and orange mousse, wow!

Superb as always, just popped in for lunch, great atmosphere, very attentive and polite staff (didn't get a "hi guys" all lunch time how refreshing )
Lovely piece of duck with very creamy mash, kale and red cabbage and hoorah if you ask for a cup of coffee you can now get a cup not a dreadful mug.
Lovely lunch, very relaxed atmosphere. My vegetarian option was totally delicious - pumpkin and parmesan short pastry tartlet. I didn't leave a single scrap. Petit fours a lovely touch, didn't finish dessert so we had room for fudge and truffles! Jack in The Green never fails to please. A gem.
My family and I are very frequent diners here and have enjoyed both the lunch and dinner menus. This is one of our favourite pub restaurants, I cannot fault the food, the staff or the service. 100% recommend.
Absolutely outstanding!! Service is excellent, attentive without being pushy or disruptive. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Food was superb and we will definitely be coming back!! Fab meal, smoked Salmon & Prawn starter, Monkfish 'scampi with curried mayo & skinny fries & salad, rose petal creme brulee & strawberry sorbet....& that was just my meal ! Our guests were equally as impressed as my husband & me. Jack in the Green you certainly delivered for us !!!! Well done

Treated by my wife for a birthday lunch this week. Ate in the restaurant mid week. As good a meal as we have had anywhere. Both Venison and duck as mains were delicious. Reasonably priced given the high standard. . £120 for 2 of us with 3 courses including drinks.

Such a lovely little gastropub. We had a lovely meal w friends. My duck was cooked perfectly and definitely the standout dish. On the pricey side, so save it for a treat.

Excellent lunch!! We chose from the Specials menu : the crispy chilli beef was delicious, and portion size was good. The sticky chicken salad was very tasty, loads of meat, and I loved the watermelon in it - made it really fresh and light! The pub itself is very spacious and well-laid out, and I love all the very witty pictures on the walls! Staff were all very warm and friendly and service was spot-on. Will certainly return again!
We went here for a celebratory meal after getting married and it was a lovely experience. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was high quality (though a little on the smaller side for the price). We had crab cocktail and gnocchi to start, then pork belly and lamb loin for mains, and finished off with a chocolate tart. A good place for a special treat but a bit pricey.
We went here for a birthday celebration and we were impressed. The taster menu gives a real spread of equally delicious delicacies. Initially we were a little disappointed that the portions really were 'tasters' but as we got through them, including a complimentary veloute we actually became quite full. Definitely keen to return in the future.

Omg, this place is amazing. We popped in for a quick bar meal rather cook at home. Quality food, cooked well and priced accordingly. Some excellent wines with service to boot. Constantly amazed with the quality and the length the staff go to make your visit so enjoyable. Well done to the service team.

Very good restaurant situated just outside Exeter and Honiton.
I wanted somewhere good to take my Mum while I was down in Devon and we found the Jack in the Green on the web and booked in, you need to book especially on a weekend.
Great car parking at the rear and a lovely prompt reception inside greeted us.
We were quickly sat down on comfortable chairs and sofas with a drink and menus.
Good selection of food with easy to understand menu.
We chose a variety of dishes including the goats cheese starter which was mega. My daughter had the scotch egg and was well impressed.
For mains again all different dishes and all came out spot on. The lemon sole was great and the sausages and mash looked amazing.
The service was also great and they were very attentive. If your drink was empty they were there quickly and politely. From course to course we never waited at all and my daughter actually commented on how many people were serving.
My view is this is a great place for a good night out. Pricing being around £40 a person for food and drinks and two courses which was very reasonable for the food and service on show here.
