Absolutely blown away by this place the service was above and beyond what you would expect for a pub. Attentive, friendly, prompt, courteous, and even took the time to take my email for a recipe to be emailed over! Myself and my fiance had the pork chop, completely stunning and cooked to perfection, 2 people I ate with had steak, and said it was melt in the mouth amazing, and my mum had the hake, which she said was just sublime. On top of that, the view was completely breath taking, overlooking the harbour, just so relaxing. Will 100% be back for more. Well done Mr Outlaw!

Can't praise this enough. Started with a terrine. Very nice I thought... Moved to 35 day Steak. £30 ish I thought it was a little dearer than your beefeater type places but hey I am on holiday and in Nathan Outlaws restaurant so I expect it to be a little higher. Well ....it was worth every penny. Looked to perfection and proper melt in the mouth cut. Then lastly the desert......Now this is not something actually to be proud of but I do know my sticky toffee puddings and have a top five list of where I have had them (yes quite sad). Having had two poor versions elsewhere in Cornwall I came up with a reasoning that if they are square cut then they are likely to be better as individuals in a round pudding seem to be the poorer way. Having askedvthr waitress she said it was round so I declined a desert. My party ordered one for me any way and I could not have been any further wrong if I tried. This desert went straight to No1. Heavenly. Great view over the bay/sea rec just enhanced a lovely evening and everyone else enjoyed their meals too. I will be back next time I am down in Rock.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the pork chop and you could taste every element on the plate that accompanied it together with a lovely sauce. My husband had the Butter chicken curry which he thoroughly enjoyed. The only hitch was that my meal was lukewarm. I pointed this out straightaway and immediately our waitress said they would do me a completely fresh dish and we wouldn't be charged for it. I was happy with that. We were then also offered complimentary desserts. This we thought was a very nice gesture and unexpected. For me this is great customer service. Many places would not have done this. The only other minor point is that it wasn't full but we were right in a corner so perhaps didn't get the full atmosphere. The fine cooking more than made up for this. We ate at Rick Stein's Bistro in Padstow later in the week and we enjoyed that but for us the food at The Mariners definitely stood out more. We will definitely return.

Had a fantastic evening here last night. The food, service, ambiance and attentive staff well exceeded our expectations. The evening was made extra special by Zach taking time to talk us through our food selections preparation. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

Well, my family have been visiting the Mariners for as long as I can remember. The service has always been excellent, great food............ and yes I am fussy eater. Rock and the surrounding area is dog friendly, so to have The Mariners among others as a dog friendly, with great beers, thanks to sharps brewery and fab food thanks to Zack and the dedicated service team is a always a bonus. If you have experience sticky table then unlucky, bone left in fish.... unlucky. Remember this is a busy active PUB, with a sailing/beach life community and not a top Michelin star restaurant.

Best pint of Sharp's Pilsner ever and best Sunday lunch - combined with exceptional views, what's not to love! The rack of lamb was a super special holiday treat which our Frenchie's devoured the left overs back at home. Service and welcome were top notch too.

We had the most amazing Sunday lunch yesterday. The staff were attentive, the shoulder of lamb and all the trimmings outstanding. The view was spectacular. The few showers we had when sitting outside made no difference to the ambiance and great afternoon we had. Will definitely go back again.

We had the most incredible Sunday lunch at the Mariners. A warm welcome when we stepped through the door left us thinking we were in for great service and we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding. We had squid starter and the buttermilk chicken which were all delicious. For main 3 of us had the Sunday roast which was by far the best roast we have eaten out EVER, every little piece on the plate done incredibly well. Full of flavour and a delight to eat. Our son had the fish and chips which he couldn’t finish as it was so huge! Delicious again. Dessert rounded off a standout meal. The raspberry steamed brown butter sponge and custard was like a tasty hug in a bowl. Yummy!! Paired with great cocktails, cracking pints and fantastic service it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We were so impressed we booked a return visit for next time we are down before we’d even left the pub! Well done all.

Dog friendly pub but best to book as always seems very busy. Great selection of Sharp's brewery products. Great staff & service. Food was lovely & reasonably priced. Great views from the restaurant & we were on the lower level due to having a dog. Would definitely recommend but book first! There was room outside for a drink also.

Shame it was a day it was raining so we sat inside upstairs which was lovely with a great atmosphere. The waiter's and waitresses we really friendly and took our order quickly. The drink arrived in good time followed by the food. We had starters and main course but could not make room for a desert as the portion sizes are generous and the food tastes amazing. Would definitely come again and we highly recommend it. Does not matter if its raining or not.

*Best fish and chips of my life* I’ll be honest, I am a huge Paul Ainsworth fan but I was wary about the pub for some reason and was worried the name was what was carrying it’s success. I shouldn’t have been. We had lunch booked after a long walk, so, pretty hungry. Both Ordered a fish and chips - portions are huge and absolutely worth the price. Oh and did I mention it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten and probably will ever eat! The quality and attention to taste and texture is spot on. Batter was crunchy, tasty and perfect ratio to the volume of fish. Perfect chips (couldn’t finish them but too good to waste so took them home!) and various accompaniments (curry sauce, tartare & mushy peas) - everything was perfectly seasoned and I couldn’t fault it. My husband had a starter (squid - delicious) but needn’t have. We were too full for dessert! Good service and lovely atmosphere. Book ahead especially if you have a dog (not all areas of the pub are dog friendly) Head chef Joe and his team do an incredible job. 100% would return & recommend.

From the first moment Melissa showed us to our table we knew we were going to be in for a lovely visit. The friendliness of the staff, atmosphere and food was just perfect. I'm becoming a massive scotch egg fan and when I saw it on the menu it was an instant order. It tasted as good as it looked. Most know me for having a burger and the Mariners burger was delicious, for me it was the flavor of the cheddar cheese that stuck with me. There was no grease, just fine flavour in a lovely bun. Great job 👏🏻 Family friendly ✅ Great food ✅ Booking in advanced adviced Thanks Melissa and your amazing team x

Simply one of the best meals I have had, brilliant service brilliant location and brilliant food! To be honest I didn't expect much else from one of Paul's restaurants and it was our first visit to one of them and massively impressed! The dogs were even made to feel at home as well! The food was amazing but I have to say the chips are the best I have had anywhere ever!! Perfection!

Excellent pub food. My partner had the beef burger, which he said was one of the best he’s ever had (he’s had many!). I had the dog’s pollock which was unique and tasty - like a fancy fish and chips. Amazing location in Rock and very good service. Highly recommend for good quality food!

Absolutely love this place! Stunning location. Consistently good food. And excellent service. In particular a huge shout out to Sarah who is the best waitress in the world, and no doubt will be running her own pub one day! We've been going there for years and always happy to visit whenever in Cornwall. Highly recommend.
