I haven't visited The Lakes for a few years. Since then they have grown into quite a sophisticated restaurant.
Stopped for a coffee and some cake and was asked if I had made a booking as it was busy. I hadn't but they accommodated as it was just coffee and desert. If it's the weekend I would recomme
Gem of a place for breakfast. Everything cooked to perfection with a wonderful view over the lakes, listening to all the wildlife.
I must say also everyone working hard whilst looking happy. Doing so many things right !!!
Really lovely place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We sat on the veranda over looking the very well kept lake.
Service was efficient and quick.

A lovely little establishment. We visited at midday for a lunchtime snack. The staff were great, the food was amazing and the process were really competitive given its relatively 'remote' location.
Well worth a visit. We went on a wet October day but this is undoubtedly a jewel in the summer.
Great tasting food friendly staff & great views over the lake, you can even sit outside in good weather.
Would suggest booking as it does get busy.
Nice breakfasts and lunches with a stunning view of the lake. Outdoor deck is great in the summer, very peaceful.
They are opening a bar so will soon serve alcoholic drinks which will be nice for an afternoon by the lake.

Sat outside overlooking a fishing lake. Food freshly cooked, delicious.. service attentive and with a smile. A very relaxing way to start your weekend.
Been here twice now , a private function (great night )and for breakfast today . Really nice atmosphere and lovely setting over the lake . We hadn't booked for breakfast but they accommodated us and we're very helpful.

Arrived Sunday lunch time just to check the place out as had read very good reviews. Thought we would just get a drink and move on. After speaking to the staff was told we could have a table for two out on the deck with our dog. Lovely view great food and very helpful staff. Will go again.
Great food, drinks, staff & setting.
Took my wife there for her birthday lunch and could not fault a thing.
Lovely setting on the side of a fishing lake, whole of back wall of restaurant was opened up so outside and inside seating felt the same, eating, drinking watching the wildlife.
Four of us for lunch, lovely sunny day so sat on the decked area overlooking the Lake, shame they shut at 4pm or could have stayed there all night. Great food & lovely cold beers...... Seafood Basket special was very tasty!!
Lovely pocket of heaven situated looking out at an idyllic lake. I always bring my friends there for lunch who come up from London. Lost count how many time I’ve visited the past few years. Excellent. Totally unexpected as thought this was serving basic cafe food!… Couldn’t have been more wrong. The food is not only freshly cooked but high quality ingredients has the best jacket potato here I’ve ever had and one of the best roast dinners. You will not be disappointed.
A very popular place with seating both inside and out, nice views over the fishing lakes. Chancey to just turn up best to book.

6 of us enjoyed a lunch break here, I had a chicken burger and Victoria Sponge, and others had cake too. Tea and coffee was also very nice.

Went for a brunch, sat on the deck next to the lake, so peaceful. We had avocado on toasted sourdough bread with poached eggs on top. Absolutely delightful.
