Enjoyed an impromptu mid week birthday lunch here yesterday. Lovely location close to the Castle and the River Medway. Very comprehensive menu to choose from. Food very good, staff are friendly and very efficient. Thoroughly recommend the generous seafood platter as a mains course and if you are offered the Cointreau Chocolate Orange Cheesecake as a dessert option, go for it. One very tasty pud. Well done chef 🍽

Thank you so much for our wedding meal held on Saturday 25th March. The food was lovely and the service excellent as always. All our guests were impressed with the location and ambience of the pub. Thank you to the chef and kitchen staff and waitress that made the whole experience so enjoyable. Mr & Mrs Reeves.

Found this little treasure by chance. The staff in there were terrific, friendly, helpful, smiling and good service. They made such a fuss of my dog too, bringing him treats and a bowl of water out into the garden. Definitely going back. The garden was nice, the inside looked very inviting and our lunch was good to boot! Well done!

Really lovely lunch yesterday, there was 8 adults and 2 young children and we could not fault our food at all and the service by our waitress was excellent. Just one little comment concerning our two grandchildren, they are aged 2 and 5 and we found their meal had quite a lot of chunky fries, half the amount would gave been ample, but apart from that all good. Bonus that you serve our favourite Dockyard GIn, lovely x

What a lovely pub. Staff are lovely friendly warming and very helpful. Brought my 2 South African friends with me for food and a drink as they where on hoils and visiting in the area. Food was amazing. My 2 friends really had a lovely time there. Thank you to you for making us so welcoming. Keep up the good work.

Had Sunday lunch, it was excellent, if you value quantity over quality then you will be disappointed, that's not to say portions are small they are not. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots, peas, red cabbage and gravy all cooked beautifully. Rhubarb crumble with fresh cream for dessert, again beautiful. Table staff excellent, unobtrusive yet attentive. Prices very reasonable given todays financial circumstances. Plenty of outdoor seating including covered and open plus heating when conditions required. Would and do thoroughly recommend.

A truly beautiful hidden gem. We attended a pagen wedding here and it was so relaxed and lovely in the garden. Through the wedding the staff all came and watched which I thought was a lovely touch. There is plenty of seating it's very relaxed clean and staff were all lovely definitely recommend and will be back

Now when we arrived we were told a half hour wait cos they were so busy. So we sat down in deserted garden ordered food straight away. After we had eaten it was still deserted. So where they were too busy came from who knows? Slightly pricey, but very nice.

Excellent "local" pub - quite "old style" with a great atmosphere. Good beer and food. Lovely friendly staff. And playing bat & trap in the garden is the icing on the cake.

The place is in a beautiful setting a stone throw from the quiter side of the river medway. The staff where friendly and the food was very good. It is on the more expensive side but the quality is also higher. My parents expecially loved it and I'm sure you will be seeing them again.

Amazing service. Friendly staff and Locals :) Beautifully location with a lovely view. We come in for Sunday lunch last weekend me and my partner were visiting from Portsmouth. My cousin is local to the area and chose to book a table before we headed home (visiting her prem baby in hospital) we had my hyper active son with us and 3 very exhausted hungry adults .. I was cautious as the pub is a quiet cosy environment (perfect for date nights or older people) however I read the room completely wrong they cater for ALLL! My nosiey son was no issues at all! The staff members all engaged and interacted with him. The food was quick but amazing quality (a real homecooked roast) price was more than reasonable for quality and amount! My son was darting around the small restaurant area we was in but the locals didn't seem to mind at all. It was honestly a pleasure eating here!! If I didn't live 2 hours away I would return every day just for atmosphere/cleanliness/friendly staff and AMAZING fresh food!! 10/10 you should all be incredibly proud of the beautiful friendly but cosy pub you have created on the waters edge!! Rest assured when we're back in a few months we will return and TIP! (I stupidly left my cash in the car and forgot we hadn't tipped until we were an hour from home!) THANK YOU FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY

Stopped here for lunch with my wife. Sat at table quickly and ordered drinks. Was advised there may be a delay on food as there was a fairly large party already seated. Drinks arrived and food ordered. As advised there was a bit of a delay to bring the food out. Food was very nice, decent sized portions and well worth the money. The large party had now left and we thought this may improve the speed of food coming out. However, after ordering deserts there was quite a long delay, which did detract from the overall experience. The staff were fantastic and apologised and the rhubarb crumble was very very nice. Overall, we liked it. We would recommend it, but it could potentially be helped by another member of staff to serve.

I love this amazing little pub/restaurant. I’d heard so many good reviews and I’ve been a few times now and haven’t been disappointed. The food is always of the best quality (the chips are amazing!!) and the waiting and bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. Absolute gem!!
