I've been here a few times since moving to the area earlier this year. It's clearly popular for its carvery offerings, as it always seems busy at the counter when I've visited previously. Personally, I've never been a fan of a carvery, therefore I can't comment from experience. However, my son, 7, who has tried it gives it the thumbs up! It's a friendly, welcoming place, the staff are always busy keeping everything running smoothly, I've only ever had a good pint, and the prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. Good offerings of draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee etc. There's also lots going on, from quiz nights to poker nights, plenty of big screens for watching sports etc, and a large play area outside the rear of the pub which is enclosed, but also within view of Rochdale Canal which would be a great spot to sit out with the kids in summer. Great staff, great food, great for families, and also well placed for transport links. Well worth a visit! (And make sure to look out for Ellis; one of the staff at Sandbrook who is constantly "zipping" around attending to customers and making sure everyone is happy!) ***Update*** Been back plenty of times now and have had a good opportunity to try out more of the menu. Yet to be disappointed. The Meat Feast Calzone would be my personal recommendation, though the burgers are also amazing. Special shout-out to Liam B in the kitchen; made me and the kids a gorgeous Pepperoni pizza and chips. Cooked to perfection, well proportioned toppings, all in all a great meal. Service remains great, staff are all really friendly and helpful. Will be a regular spot for me moving forwards.

Many thanks to chef Tom! Great carvery with an impressive selection of vegetables. Tasty beef, great roast potatoes and perfect Yorkshire puddings. What more could one ask? Oh, could have been a little hotter but that's all.

Visited again on a Wednesday. Reasonable food at a reasonable price. Met with a work colleague for something to eat before watching the rugby this Sunday. Lots of parking spaces available. We had reserved a table but there were very few people in the restaurant when we arrived. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. Everyone else had a carvery and enjoyed it tremendously. The bill came to under £50 for two adults and three children. Definitely worth visiting again.

Our server Ellis was very approachable, friendly and made a massive contribute to our overall experience here! She looked after us from the moment we entered the building, despite working very hard, she provided excellent service with a smile! Food was great and arrived to the table quickly!

Had breakfast here and fantastic value for money, although the filter coffee included in offer wasn't great. The staff were very friendly especially Mica who was very professional and caring. Would certainly Recommend *****

Booked a table for 15 for a family birthday on easy to use website. Table was all ready for designated time. Server was extremely polite and friendly. We were informed of little delay on menu food so when little ones got to play in the play area outside. When the food was ready the staff delivered it all to the table at the same time..pizzas, calzone and kids meals, leaving the rest to then get their carvery meals, all meats available and a good selection of vegetables. All food was consumed and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to all the attentive staff a lovely meal enjoyed by all.

Googled for a Stonehouse whilst visiting the area and identified the Sandbrook as a known entity to eat at with a menu for everyone. I was very pleased with my choice as it was convenient to find on our travels, the parking was easy, and the carvery ready and waiting for a filling lunch treat for our party of 3. My friends were pleasantly surprised and immediately looked up for a Stonehouse more local to us. A special thank you to the friendly and helpful staff who have offered to return personal items left behind by mistake - thank you so much!

First time I've visited. The menu had a good range of food. Food and drink was reasonably priced. Phil was very accommodating and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. I will definitely be returning. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We came for a birthday meal with most of us having a carvery, the food was lovely, apart from the pigs in blankets which were burnt, they were very understanding about my allergies and helped to accommodate where they could. Lovely bar staff and chefs!!
