This place me and the family have been coming to on and off, there's something that keeps bringing us back but unfortunately it isnt always the food or the service but that's in the past and since the new take over and the new spring to life with a new breakfast menu and the carvery being brought back to life there isn't a bad thing to say about the place, there's a nice updated park for the kids to play and the veiw from the car park on a sunny day is unbelievable.

Had a lovely meal here with my wife midweek. I had fajitas and my wife had scampi, and we both thought it was lovely. The guy serving( obviously ex military) was extremely polite and welcoming and and even the owner had a little chat to be sure we enjoyed ourselves. We had a bad experience here previously but had heard it was under new management and we are glad we did. Will be back very soon to try some of the other menu delights.

Had the buffet breakfast - really nice with lots of choice. Decent price - £6.95 - will definitely return and will take the family and try the evening menus. My only grumble would be the coffee wasn't hot enough from the coffee urn... by the time I added my milk it was warm at best! Definitely worth a try!

Lovely from the outside, and although looking a tad tired on the inside, furnishings still comfortable (I believe it'll shortly be refurbished?). We had the carvery as it was full for a sit down Sunday Lunch, 4 meats to have or choose from and plenty of vegetables on offer, gravy was lovely! Worth every penny of a mere £6.95..... will definitely go again.

Since the new owners have taken over they've given this place a new lease of life.. More choice especially the veg section when your having carvery. And the staff are more than approachable. Looking forward to test the new breakfast menu

I was in my heavily pregnant scruffs (leggings, t-shirt and fitflops) and had my 2 year old with me when I collected my hubby from work. He was late because of the trains and we were all pretty shattered. We had the most lovely welcome, we're seated straight away and the menu was just a little different to regular pub grub. The children's menu was the best because it wasn't the typical nuggets/sausage/fish fingers and chips (which she wouldn't eat, she doesn't like convenience food). There were home made variants of those but also things like macaroni cheese which she loved. They even made up a drink for her in her own little drinking bottle! The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The setting is beautiful and as well as a large car park and children's play area, you can just sit outside and enjoy the view of the hills and the horses grazing in the fields. I cook everything from scratch at home and am quite picky when it comes to eating out. I've been known to go nose-to-nose with people who claim to be chefs but serve pathetic food so I'm not easily impressed. I expected basic pub grub and given the circumstances that evening, that would have been fine. It was a pleasant surprise to have the slightly different menu and for the food to be so lovely. I still can't believe how well we were treated too considering that after 7pm, you are more likely to see the customers dressed for dinner (the rest were) but we were made to feel so comfortable and treated so well that we'll definitely be returning in better circumstances!

Lovely setting for a meal. The bar area is big and has lots of large Windows for the perfect country view. The Meals are very good value & it's also a carvery. The Staff are very welcoming and make you feel at ease. Nice place.

Food was really nice. Service was very good. Staff were very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. 2 adult carveries, 1 kids carvery, a kids macaroni cheese, a drink and dessert each for a family of four. £35 on a Saturday night. There is also a playground outside which is great in nice weather. We've been loads of times and will definitely go again.

Best buffet breakfast we have had. Great choice even had a separate well done bacon section and “cheesy beans”. Plenty of veggie options too if that’s your thing. Fruit juice cereals and endless tea and coffee all for under £7.00. Really can’t fault it and will definitely be back...

Considering how busy the restauraunt was we were attended to quickly. We chose the carvery which was of a high standard with a choice of three meats and a wide variety of differant vegetables, we particularly liked the cauliflower cheese. I would highly recommend this restaurant for reasonably priced quality food and courteous staff.

Excellent value food. Service slow. Table not cleared at the end of first course. Staff didn't return to ask if we wanted anything more. It's a shame because the food is good, access is good and it's a pleasant atmosphere.
