I have eaten here many times over the past 2 years, I can honestly say me or my friends never had a bad meal yet. The food is all homemade cooked fresh great menu choices, the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend Owd Betts to anybody.

We were using a Groupon offer and we've tried a few at different places, but I have to say this was the best deal we've had so far. The food was great. I had the burger which came with loads of hand cut chips and salad. The hubby had the rag pudding which he really enjoyed. We both had the tiramisu for dessert. It was all beautifully presented. The portions were really generous.
We thought the drinks were a bit pricey but we only had a couple with the meal so not a great problem.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.
We would definitely return.

Visited for our 4th wedding anniversary, from arriving we were greeted by a young girl who wished us happy anniversary, food was wonderful and plenty of choice, our dessert came with which they had wrote happy anniversary in chocolate, this was such a perfect touch to a perfect meal, 5* and we will be visiting again Thank you so much , John n Dawn
The service was very good. A choice of meals on the menu. Well worth money, will certainly go again.
we visited here yesterday we had a lovely meal. The food was beautiful well cooked well presented real good value also. The staff and service was excellent. We will be going back very soon.

This public house is absolutely beautiful and well situated with scenic views. As for the food, omg the Sunday Roast is amazing and full of flavour and the desert is divine.

Great place for a great steak dinner, friendly but respectful staff. Old traditional looking pub but with contemporary qualities. Arrived early evening so less busy and quiet enough to hear yourself speak. Checked for preferences and the menu is changed often. Friday nights is steak night and booking a table will avoid disappointment, as they say 'up north' !!!

Garden at back of pub, tables could do with a good clean, but enjoyed view & sunset! Cyclists in garden. Staff friendly & approachable.
We visited tonight to remember our mum on her first Birthday in Heaven - she loved the cheese pie here so we asked the restaurant to save us four portions. The food, atmosphere and staff were amazing! We had a lovely time with lots of laughs and good memories. Thankyou to the team for a lovely evening x
3 Delicious meals, fish & chips best I have ever had ,served with mushy peas and tartar sauce, my partner had the mixed grill, it beat him ! And my mother-in-law had cheese and onion pie, she said it was delicious, we came upon Owd Betts by chance and so glad we stopped,the staff are very friendly and the restaurant has plenty of character . Definitely worth travelling the 2 hr drive to go again.
Beautiful little pub that serves amazing food.
We were looking for a dog friendly pub to get a sandwich and decided to try Owd Betts. It was fantastic! The staff were really nice, the food was great (we'll be going back to try more off the menu), and they even gave our dog a little tub of turkey which he loved.
Definitely worth a trip, maybe you'll be lovely enough to get a table in front of the open fire 😁
Very nice and cozy little pub and lots of history behind it. Enjoyed having a few drinks. Food looked good too. Will taste it next time!
