If you haven't had the picnic bench afternoon tea here at The Fox Bar & Bistro then you are missing out.
Service is great and the picnic benches are laid with the most beautiful assortment of savoury and sweet treats.
I'm trying to think of a reason to try this month's picnic bench menu!
Highly recommend you visit this place, you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely great service in all aspects. Kids and family friendly. Food is outstanding taste and looks brilliantly. Warm and nice welcome , friendly and helpful staff . We had a brilian time as a family .
Absolutely loved it. Will recommend to everyone I know. We had the March picnic bench. I'm glad I booked a table before hand.
Very nice pub with a good standard of food and friendly staff.
Took my mum and grandma for afternoon tea yesterday to celebrate my mums birthday. Had the February picnic bench, it was fantastic. Looked amazing with all the miniature foods on. So much food and choice. Service was great, we had been served drinks and eaten the food within 35 minutes of being seated. First time visit but will most definitely be booking again.
My daughter and I went for afternoon tea and it was amazing!! It was so quirky with the little wooden benches it came on and the different individual cups and dishes it came on. The food was gorgeous. The staff were friendly and the surroundings were very clean and modern with 'Foxy' themed wall stencil and chair cushions.I'll definitely be going back 😊.
I first visited this establishment 5 years ago when it was owned by Melanie. The food was great, staff were friendly albeit a bit slow to serve, and the atmosphere was very cozy. My wife and I had our engagement party there in their upstairs room which was catered for flawlessly. Visiting the Fox once again under its new ownership I was quite disappointed with my first impression. Staff at the bar were obviously aware of my being there due to them constantly looking at me but it took a good 5 or 6 minutes before they even asked if they could help me. Someone who arrived after me got served before my brother and I were asked if we needed service. First impressions aside I was quite impressed with the gentleman who suggested some wines to us but was once again let down with how long it took for someone to take our order. Half an hour after being seated we were finally asked what we'd like to eat (keep in mind it wasn't particularly busy at the time we were seated) and then it took another 15 minutes or so for a pasta and fish and chips to be served to us. Taking everything into account, the food was exquisite. I didn't order dessert as I didn't know they served it due to it not appearing on the main menu. I'm very glad to see the quality of food hasn't changed but am disappointed the service has lessened in quality even compared to the previous ownership. Worth a trip but be prepared for long wait times.
My Fiance & I took my Mum for a belated Mothers day date. We were given the table we chose ourselves on arrival .. the window seats. We were so happy to find out we were having afternoon tea and it looked fantastic .. it wasn't as good as I had hoped in regard to the food quality but I know this isn't always the case. They gave us extra baked biscuits though.. these, I loved & the cheese cakes.
The lady who served us was lovely and the place had a cosy atmosphere and we went at a good time to get served as it was quiet. The traffic upon leaving was crazy. Will definitely be going again though.
Lovely afternoon tea, pity they had run out of decaffeinated coffee.
An enjoyable valentines afternoon tea. Excellent service not long of a wait, friendly staff, happy to help. Beautiful picnic table food was lovely and good value for money. A relaxing atmosphere with clean surroundings. Will definitely recommend to anyone and go again.
Lovely food, friendly staff an enjoyable afternoon
