What super friendly people! An absolute gem of a place in Ripponden, serving tasty food at reasonable prices. It's warm cosy atmosphere draws you in from the moment you step inside. I'll definitely be frequenting this delightful pub.
A wonderfully old pub full of character with lovely atmosphere. Food was very good (ate once on a Sunday) proper well made gravy full of flavour. Staff were really nice, helpful and attentive. Recently popped in for a pint in a winters night and it was cosy and warm with the real fires with a good a
Amazing super old traditional pub right by the river, open fires and the Sunday roast is No. 1 on our regular Sunday roasters ranking list! Great friendly staff, generous portions and reasonable prices. Highest recommendation.
I can't recommend this place enough. It's brilliant looking old building. Went for Sunday lunch with the wife and kids. Great beers and gins. Portion sizes were huge and the food was amazing. Loads of veg to go round and cauliflower cheese comes as standard. The staff were great, didn't leave us h
I haven't tried the food so i cant rate it. The pub is very characteristic, with an old fashioned style takes everyone in a time trip. I loved the decor, and the fireplace. Lovely service.
Absolutely beautiful pub, fantastic surroundings and excellent food. Will definitely be planning a return visit
we arrived 2pm on thursday, we missed buffet lunch, they only serves sandwiches and desserts. the sandwiches were only ok, the sweet potato fries and coleslaw were good. the portion sizes of sandwich were rather small. the side salads of sandwiches were small and almost non-existed. the apple and rh
A fantastic Sunday Roast. Outstanding meat, everything else cooked and seasoned perfectly and full of flavour. You’d have to go to the three Acres or Shibden Mill to match it… and then you’d probably pay extra for ‘sides’ of this quality. As a pub that’s been there for over 800 years it’s full of ch
Superb chefs- food is always 10/10! Had roasted pepper & sweet potato soup followed by salad & quiche & scotch egg today. Absolutely fantastic. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Compliments to the chefs
Went for our lunch on Sunday and had a really lovely time. The food is outstanding - tasty, fresh vegetables, and a selection of gorgeous desserts...(you MUST experience the sticky toffee pudding and custard!!!). We left our plates unashamedly empty and finished with fresh coffee (free refill), brou
Brilliant traditional and historic pub. Nice simple pub food. Good value. Be perfect if few things not overcooked like yorkshire puddings and sticky toffee puddings. I know it's a very old listed building but some better ventilation would be good, as gets quite greasy-kitchen smelling throughout, ru
What a cracking place this is... Lovely old, traditional, pub in a beautiful riverside setting in the picturesque Yorkshire town of Ripponden. Quite possibly the best chips I've ever had (probably best to avoid them if you are veggie) and the rest of the meal was high quality, home-cooked fare. Try
Great place for refreshments after a strenuous walk. Good beers.
Great food, good beer, nice wine. I would particularly recommend the midweek lunch buffet. This pub is a real gem, easily one of the best in the whole country. Just be careful because it gets really busy on the weekend.
Great place. Log fires and delicious food smells in the air all compliment the great hand pulled ales.
Old bridge is a really classic pub with lots of cosy corners to sit and have a drink with pals ! Always enjoy going, staff are friendly and great to talk to. Really nice to sit outside in the summer by the river and over all just a really chill atmosphere
Perfection in a pub. Dating back to 1307, serving really delicious ales. I’ve visited here for lunch and evening meals. Lunch was spectacular and evening meals were way beyond what you’d expect from pub food. It was an excellent menu with offerings for everyone
Great place, good well priced menu and friendly staff and owner. Certainly well worth a visit if you are in the area. I will certainly visit it again. Beautiful setting and own carpark. Oldest pub in Yorkshire 1307. Loved it. 😁
Beautiful place, food gorgeous, staff friendly. Would definitely recommend
