Superb from start to finish. Amazing food in every course (and fantastic adaptation for my wife’s dairy intolerances). Service was perfect, with friendly knowledgeable service, all in a lovely setting. Fabulous wine (Hattingley Valley Kings Cuvée not cheap but exceptional). Must have been 8 courses for lunch by the time it was all over. Arrive hungry, as the portions can be surprisingly generous too! Even though we booked accidentally for Mother’s Day. Not a mis-step anywhere. Cannot wait to return.

I found this Michelin one restaurant on my way down from Scotland. It located in Yorkshire dale area 15mins drive from National Trust Fountain Abbey. On the day I went for lunch there, I came across a wedding. All the staff are very friendly with smiles, and they are quite helpful in giving direction. The estate is grand event with a river flow through. The service they provided is excellent and ceremonial. We ordered 7course Tasting Menu. Food is delicately presented and the quantity is just right. And the sommelier is very knowledgable and their non-alcoholic flight is definitely a bonus! They do make lots of efforts to meet the clients' expectation, I am surprised how good the pairing is to go with the food. I walked around the garden after the satisfied meal. Would definitely visit again next time in this area.

The dining room at Shaun Rankin, Grantley Hall is unique. The decor and design are formal yet welcoming, and give a sense of the stately romanticism of the place. The 10-course vegetarian tasting menu was good, on the whole, albeit not the best we've had. It is clear that a lot of thought goes into the dishes, however, and the service is up there with the best (complete with shifting champagne trolley, dessert/truffle trolley and very knowledgeable waiters and waitresses). The lack of depth in the vegetarian tasting menu means 4* rather than 5* but certainly worth a visit for the ambience, service and overall dining experience.

We all felt like royalty for the evening, the food was absolutely amazing. If you want to treat yourself, this is the place to do it. The wine pairing suited each course tremendously. Thank You for the amazing experience. Will see you again X

When we say this is a truly special culinary journey, it is a tasting menu or a 10 course feast of small locally sourced dishes, each carefully created with consideration for the correct blend of flavours, with each complimenting one another. Going beyond many one Michelin star restaurants, Shaun Rankin is deserving two stars for the exceptional thought process and attention to detail that has gone into the menu. The selection won’t leave you feeling like you’ve over indulged, despite being 10 courses, mainly as we said above, because it’s carefully timed to 3 hours and is more akin to a food journey, like the Fat Duck concept. Beautiful surroundings not just in the restaurant, but in the hotel and it’s grounds, where many more special treats await overnight visitors. Grantley Hall is also worthy of a Six Star award, should one have existed. No expense is spared and the service provided by the staff in most areas is superb as you would expect for a hotel and restaurant at this level. To conclude, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall is worthy of two Michelin stars in our opinion. Congratulations to all of the team for making the menu so special.

Excellent innovative food using more locally sourced ingredients. Had 9 course tasting menu (no a la carte option), and thought portions were just right and I did not feel like I had to push myself to finish. Great service and very knowledgeable staff. Nice setting located inside Grantley Hall hotel. No Michelin star (yet) but I believe they should get one or two soon.

Excellent dinner, beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly, efficient but unobtrusive service. The menu was balanced and tasty, with complex flavours and textures from fresh ingredients. The selection of wine complemented the dishes perfectly.

Excellent service and dining experience at Michelin Star Shaun Rankin, incredibly beautiful dishes. Not the best views from the restaurant (parking) nor the most inspiring interiors, and slightly too stiff at times but paramount attention to detail and absolutely lovely staff.

A quite frankly amazing place to enjoy some of the best food you can eat. Great setting and decor combined with attentive and knowledgeable staff make this a must experience on any food connoisseur's list of places to eat. The food was as you would expect from somewhere that has earned a Michelin star. I will be returning in the future.

Absolutely fantastic. The venue is spectacular, the food is exquisite and the staff are wonderful. Tom and the team in the kitchen produced an amazing tasting menu. Front of house the staff were attentive and bubbling with personality. A new venue on my list of favourites, we shall definitely return soon.

Fine dining at its absolute best. 12 course tasting menu was divine and the service and detail was amazing. A real experience and piece of theatre but felt very relaxed. A great night.

Based on many happy meals at Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, I would very happily recommend for a reliably excellent Michelin Starred dining experience. The menu has a very strong foundation (based on locality) with interesting seasonal changes, and has never left me anything but satisfied and impressed in equal measure. The front of house team are excellent, and the drinks pairings highly recommended. The new soft drinks flight is one of the very best non-alcoholic pairings in starred restaurants. Grantley Hall is a lovely venue to stay for a few nights if dining at Shaun Rankin but the starred restaurant is very much the jewel in the crown that never disappoints and sets the standard for the rest of the establishment. PS More widely to Grantley Hall, the venue is 10/10, Shaun Rankin 10/10, hotel service 5/10, Afternoon Tea 6/10, Fletchers 6/10, Eight Eight 8/10, Breakfast 6/10, Spa 10/10, Spa Treatments 7/10, regular rooms 9/10, junior suites 6/10, higher suites 10/10, bar, cocktails etc 10/10.

Stunningly good. We had Sunday lunch at Shaun Rankin and every element was excellent: beautiful room, wonderful servers who were formal enough but also very nice, just stunning food, and very reasonably priced for what you got. The room is elegant but our five people, dressed to explore various cathedrals and castles, felt comfortable. Each dish was thoughtfully explained, the pacing was moderated, certainly not rushed, each taste was layered with flavor and the presentations were very creative. Can’t imagine this won’t rise to a 2 star, or even 3. Well done and well a visit by anyone in the area. (We weren’t staying on property, obviously, but felt very well treated.)
