Went there for the steak taster night on Saturday. Excellent meal and real good quality steaks. Learned a lot about the different cuts of steak and ageing. Great night and would recommend it if they do it again. Our favourite place delivered again, well done

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights for a restful weekend, we both totally enjoyed ourselves and loved the place. The staff were amazing, Olivia was very helpful and attentive on our arrival and when she new I had a dairy allergy she made sure that the chef was aware if this for breakfast and any other meals. They also provide soya milk. Our room overlooked the cathedral which was a sight to see, didnt have any problems with noise. The room (11) was basic but very comfortable and at the very top of the building so be wary of stairs if you have bad knees and recovering from a heart attack. Be aware that the old deanery is popular with weddings and parties, especially at the weekend so this can be busy. The food is amazing and I was impressed with them having a cafetiere for my love of coffee! We thoroughly had a fabulous time, thankyou.

We held our wedding here on 24th September 2015. It was amazing! We had exclusive use and Linda and her staff couldn't do enough to help us and they made sure everything ran smoothly. The Old Deanery is a beautiful venue with a fabulous garden and the rooms are superb. Can't recommend them enough. We will definitely go back to stay and lots of our guests said the same.

Awesome location - 15 steps from the Cathedral (literally). Heated floor in the bathroom :-) bedroom was very roomy and comfortable. Comfiest bed we've had our whole trip to England. Breakfast was good. Nice feel to the place even though there's a couple of places you can see need TLC. Adequate parking and only 1/3 mile to the town center.

As a wedding photographer, the Old Deanery is an absolute pleasure to work at! The building is full of character, the gardens are super for photographs and the food is amazing! It's super handy for weddings at the Cathedral which is just over the road too! The staff looked after me so well, and I cant wait to be back for my next wedding!

We just had our wedding at The Old Deanery in October and I can't praise the venue and it's team enough. Rebecca and the dream team were so helpful throughout the whole process and were incredibly accommodating. They put our minds at ease and made our day so fantastic. The venue is beautiful, both inside and out. All the guests were well catered for and looked after. We also had A LOT of compliments from guests about how incredible the food was for both the main meal and nibbles. Many said it was the best food that they'd ever had at a wedding. And I would fully agree ! Thank you so much!

Both luxury and comfort on a Sunday afternoon. We attended for a three course Sunday lunch, the service was impeccable with personable and attentive staff - what a fantastic team….. We were made to feel so welcome. The refurbishment is very impressive, neutral yet warm, simple yet striking but also has a quirkiness and creative edge. The food was just beautiful and of the expected high quality. There is attention to detail with everything so we were very impressed. The laid back atmosphere, whilst enjoying a post meal pot of tea with the snow covered cathedral out of the window and a roaring fire was exactly what we needed on a Sunday. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. So wonderful to have The Old Deanery as a go to venue again! Very well done to the team.

What a lovely hotel in a beautiful city (which very much seems more like a market town but it has a cathedral). The team were welcoming and friendly; the room was beautifully furnished and had a comfortable bed; and the food (we only had breakfast) was delicious. The hot part of the breakfast was sort of deconstructed, which made my partner say that he missed the egg white, but all parts of it were yummy. We'd return in a heartbeat.

We’ve just been for a delicious Sunday roast at The Old Deanery. Food, wine and service all top notch. Three courses for £38 isn’t bad value at all given the quality. The dining room is light and airy but still cozy and had a lovely calm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone.

We came here for the 9 course tasting menu and we all left very impressed. The 17th century building itself is cosy and has a lovely atmospheric mix of old and new. The staff were all friendly, informative and attentive without ever being intrusive. But the star of the show was the food! All 9 courses were inventive and looked great on the plate and all delicious and full of flavour. My favourite was the halibut - see picture. A lovely touch for the chef - Adam Jackson - to personally describe the first course and then serve it to you. Well done to all involved. Highly recommended and great to see such a restaurant in Ripon.

This business has very recently reopened as a restaurant with rooms. We have been lucky enough to have just had a 2 night stay there dinner, bed and breakfast. The experience was beyond amazing. The team are trying to create a very special, unique and memorable experience and in my opinion have totally smashed it. The food is stunning, creative and exceptional. The accommodation is quirky, welcoming and cosy. The team are outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and they go way beyond the norm to ensure your stay is amazing. I don't want to be any more specific because it will spoil the surprise! We will definitely be going again and if you don't grab this experience you are really missing out. A big special thank you to Adam, Chloe and Alex - you deserve every success.
