Every morcel we ate was delicious and the service was excellent... We were even gifted a beautiful carved wooden camel that now lives on my brother's barge nearby... I can't promise every customer will be so lucky but I'm fairly sure you will get the excellent food...

Great staff, it's a new team running this pub so will return after their refurb finishes towards the end of November. Having said that if today's Sunday Roast was anything to go by it will be a well deserved success. Generous portions with a wide variety of vegetables. Nicely done roasts.

Very friendly, conversational staff. The food was delicious, the best ribs I've ever had. It's got a nice, dimly lit atmosphere which I liked also. The only negative point was there was no high-chair for my little one to sit in, so we had to feed him in his pram, of which he wasn't too keen on.

We were here in March 2022 and we loved the ambience and open fire, the food was impressive then. Says a lot about a venue when you visit nearly 6 months later and food still just as good. We really had another memorable lunch before we head back to Australia. Thank you Sheila for your great service and your son’s efforts in the kitchen - outstanding 👍👍👍

Very nice and cozy pub. Quiet and warm atmosphere, welcoming staff and tasty food. Really gives you the feeling of a family run place. Nice fireplace inside, and plenty of parking outside. Recommended.

We booked here as a family for a Sunday Roast… excellent service, the food was delicious and great value. We would definitely recommend this pub to friends as there was a nice family atmosphere. A very warm welcome to the new management 😊

A quaint traditional boozer with all the cosy trimmings. Nic-nacs and fireplace to boot. Beyond Doombar beers are generic and are a few local brews away from pub bliss.

Good size side/rear garden. Just had several drinks. Can not comment on the inside or the food. Service good.

THI REVIEW WAS LISTED BEFORE THE CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT IN JULY 2023. What a pleasure to dine at a Pub that serves Quality food. We have at last found a place that presents good honest pub grub. The portions are generous and so so tasty served with a smile. First time we have been to this establishment and we are booking to be there again in a couple of weeks. The prices are average for the area but the quality of food is far above average. This really is a great place to eat. If we lived closer to this great pub we would be there weekly. Well have now returned several times with friends and have NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER.

Drove past this country pub by chance on a Saturday evening and went in. Lovingly decorated, traditional and warm with fires on and lots of locals for dinner. Fresh, professionally prepared food of very high quality for a reasonable price, very friendly and forthcoming staff. We had a great time.

A fairly limited range of bitters but a good pub grub menu. The food for all 8 of us arrived in very good time.

Decided to have a drive out for a drink and maybe find somewhere that served food as well, WHAT A GEM OF A PLACE!!, from the moment of walking in till the moment we left, we were made welcome and comfortable, and as for the food!! Amazing, so tasty and so much of it, we will definitely be going back.

Stumbled upon this place by accident whilst getting lost on a bike ride with my partner. Scrummy food and lush pint of doombar on a boiling hot day. We also got to see a gold crest (I think that's what it was called) the smallest bird in Britain.
